A new method of laying foundations for meadows and Paz- tures was developed: a layer of sod 3-5 cm thick is removed from the better sections of the natural pastures and is cut into pieces measuring 2-3 cm, which are manually laid at a distance nearly .50 cm from one another and rolled. To combat weeds this section is preliminarily seeded by an ordinary grass mixture, which is pro- Card 1/2 -2- -O[1 -Int ei nal aC-M-PT-A YTEMICA Sec-.6-VaLA G- *d 11YASK-1-SKAYA A.H. and ATAKOVA E'.E. ilf infectio-us -a R -ti 7 Tft-. -.,,I (I t e x I I 0%If'hk- i 955. 33/a (.111-42) Gral" I it It, 419 PAOIrMs olmerved in 411eurejIming jktjsjjjwj% (r(jj" 4 it (ml* two *ere 1wrfeelly *4.11 while.14 #"U"1111d is 24 mlial"Awk 41ka- 1101-11MCON. The results of this investigation, carried out over a wide range of carbon concentration, are presented in this paper. The behavior of pre-eutectic white iron surfaces in crystalli- zation, cooling and isothermal holding was also studied. Card 1/2 It is shown that in all cases of thermal treatment in.a SOV/21-58-2-6/21 Investigation of the Process of Graphite Segregation on the Surface of Fe C Alloys on Thermal Treatment in Vacuum vacuum the process of graphite formation on the surface pro- ceede at a considerably greater rate than.in the solid m&- trix. It is assumed therefore that numerous microscopic defects (pores, fissures, etc) play an important part in the formation of graphitization centers, There are 4 pho- tos and 5 Soviet references.
