Aminoketones with antinicotinic actinn and adrenalytic effect reduce body temper-
ature in rats and mice. The administration of narcotics (morphine and similar
compounds) with aminoketones results in rapid cooling at an environmental temper-
ature of 8' C.; In normal anjivials cooling does not occur at this temperature.
's-13
C ON W
Narcotics raise body temperature when administered at room temperature but
this effect is prevented by arninoketones. Some aminoketones potentiate the anal-
gesic action of narcotics and ether. The increase in metabolic rate caused by
various drugs Is obliterated. Aminaketones with antinicotinic action are stated to
be central ganglion-blocking agents. De Boer - Grand Forks. N.D.

Abstract: (English article] Tile title compound causes catalepsy, hypothermia,
and reduction in metabolic rate even at low doeses (3-5 mg /kg ) in rabbits,
cats, and dogs. The effect develops slowly and lasts several days. In anesthe-
tized cats it reduces respiration rate, blood pressure, and inhibits carotid
sinus pressor reflex. The vasomotor response to carbon dioxide remains. It has
no antihistaminic, adrenolytic, antiacetylcholine, or antinicotinic effect.
It does not paralyze the autonomic ganglia but blocks polysynoptic spinal re-
flexes. The analgqs'ic effect is more effective than that of morphine. The
compound potentiates ether, Evipan, and chlorpromazine. It synchronizes the
cerebral electrical activity. 26 references, including 5 German, 9 Hungarian,

ABSTIZACT: The physiological properties of fibors from pulmonary stretch receptors,
isolated from the cervical vagas of cats anesthotized with chloralose-urethane, cura-
rized and artificiAlly ventillated, have been studied. 1) In 23 per cent of the
,isolated fibers, the~sCbtivity did not cease during the respiratory interval.
2) The activity during this interval depended on "the duration, volume and
-frequency of the preceeding inflations. 3) Changes in the blood oxygen and
0
.carbon dioxide content do not influence the activity of the fibers during
-the respiratory interval. 4) An insufficient inflation of the lungs does
-not explain the activity under review. The fibers remain active In ca.5es
,of pnpumothorax and.the activity remaim undor the influence of the factors

specified under(Z). 5) Since discharges c-sase -In the examixed fibers when
air is sucked out from the lun.gs, the receptors of these fibers appear
-to be stretch receptors with a very low threshold value. 6) it is suggested
tha:t ihe inhibitionIis due* iO__p'ost-e'xcitat io-n'd'ep'ression. -7-) Since the
fibers (receptors) under consideration presurrably have the
function to ~n_
:hibit the respiratory center and since they remain active during the interval.
:between two respirations in eupnea, the use of the term ,,onic expiratory
..fibers"'(receptors) is suggested to distin.gui5h them fro-,,i the stretch recep-
'tors which are active during inflation only (pI
a hasic expiratory receptors).

ABSTRACT: It has been~sh6wh that I-piperiaino-.*
;'2-phenyl-e'thane (RIP_1~9) ahd'l-piperidino-2.;phenyl-ethene (FMP-228) have
an elective.curare-like effect on cats, rabbits, mice, and frogs. They have
practically no muscarine and nicotine-like effects. The curare-like activity
is elic' d by depolarization f the motor endplates. This is indicated by
ite 0
*the fact that they cause fibrillar spasms and the blocking of the myoneural
transmission can not be inhibited by pro5tigmine. According to the data,
.-curare-like activity.is present in auch compounds which.contain one tertiary
atom in which a phenyl radical is-located at 4.6-5 R distance from it.
This ring is d~finitely_peeded for the effect since 1-N-piperidino-butane,

Thyme Death
Orig Pub : Yagyar belorv. archivum, 1955, 8, No 4, 116-122
Abstract : A sudden death in the Status thymicolymphaticus is re-
lated to a shock as a result of storage in the organism
of large amounts of acetylcholine due to a strong increase
in the function of the thymus (T) which paralyzes the
activity of choliesterinase. Due to the hypofunction
of the adrenals as a result of their hypoplasia, the
shock cannot be counteracted. The Injection of T
extracts lavers the blood pressure in cats and rabbits,

ABSTRACT: The physiological properties of fibors from pulmonary stretch receptors,
isolated from the cervical vagus of cats anesthetized with chloralose-urethan,N, aura-
rized and artifictilly ventillated,.hava been studied. 1) In 23 per cent of the
isolated fibers, thii ictivity did not cease during the respiratory intei:val.
_!2) The activity during this interval depended on the duration, volume and
-frequency of the preceeding inflations. 3) Changes in the blood oxygen and
0
~carbon dioxide content do not influence the activity of the fibers during
:the respiratory interval. 4) An insufficient inflation of the lungs does
--not explain the activity under review. The fibers remain active in cases
,of _pn~umothorax and the_aCtivity remains under the influence-of the factors

TIM: Studies of the neural connection between the hypotWardo depressor and vaso-
depressor areas in the cat
SOURCE: Academia scientiarum. hungaricae. Acta physiologic&, v, 27, no, 2, 1965,119-123
TOPIC TAGS: neurology, cat, nervous system, blood pressure, reflex activity
ABSTRACT: The neural connection between the hypothalamic depressor area and the vaso.
depressor area of the medulla oblongata has boon studied in the cat* It was found
that the.fall in blood pressure. evoked by hypothalamic stimaation, failed to develo]
after dorso-wntral division of the medulla oblongata, at the height of the facial
cranial nerve. over a width of 2.3 mm on both sidos of the center line. Transaction
of this kind does not iMair the effect of hypothalamic pressor impulses nor does it
paralyze the vasomotor center. Presumably, there is a direct neural connection be-
tween the hypothalamic depressor aroa and the vasodeprossor area of the. modulla oblon.
gata, it is suggested that the depressor area constitutes a vasodeprossor reflex can.
ter which receives impulses both from the periphery and from the 4ighor nervous
cantors. Orig. arte has: 4 figures. rig. art. in Enax/ LJPRPJ

TEXT: Instead of contacts In the current limiting relay of the generator
of an internal combustion engine working at varying rpm, it is proposed to in-
stall silicon diodes 3 (see figun---) connected to the excitation winding 2 of the
generator 1. The diodes block the circuit until a-given voltage is 'reached, af-
ter which they pass the current; at the same time-some of the ampere turns of I
the winding are cut out, and the voltage of the current at the generator termi_,~
nals decreases. A buncher can be connected into the network. There is 1 figure'.~.-

RACT: The problem of finding the distribution of probabilities of an additive
tional from a diffusion process is considered. An integro-differential equation is
Ined for the characteristic function of the functional. This equation is a general-
ion to a wider class of the functionals involved in the well known results of 14.
and E. B. Dynkin. A theorem concerning the existence and uniqueness of the solu-
of the equation obtained is proved. Conditions are found under which the integro-
'erential equation is equivalent to a certain partial differential equation. The
