Tbilisi, AN GrUZ. SSR. 1957, pp 15-Z4 ABSTRACT: The corrosion and the electrochemical behavior of short- circuited couples consisting of Mn and metallic admixtures (Cu, Ni, Co) depositing on the surface of Mn in a manga-iesc electrolyte (MnS04, (NH4)ZS04) was studied. In contact with these metals Mn corrodes with a noticeably positive difC!rence effect, but the intensity of the work of all the couples StUdied is about equal. The work of the couples proceeds under cathode control. The data obtained provide no possibility to attr-bute the increased reverse solubility of Mn during its electrolysis in the presence of Cu, Ni, and Co to the work of the galvanic Card 1/1 couples forming on the surface of the Mn. Tbilisi, AM GrruzSSR, 1957, pp 483-501 ABSTRACT: An investigation is made of percolation leaching of the ores of Usa. When the solution is delivered to tho percolator at a rate of 100-150 cc/hr in a single piece of equipment 5 to 2Zg Mn may be extracted per liter of solution. Jai increase in tenip- erature to 50-600C makes it possible to operate at rates 4-5 times as high as at ordinary temperatures with the same ex- traction of Mn per unit volurne of solution. The degree of Mn recovery attains 85-930%. Multi-stage percolation with 3 perco- lators in tandern showed up to 83% Mn recovery, wl~ile -60% of the amount of H2SO4 introduced was consurned in combining with Nin. Multi-stage percolation with 70 -, 112SOVIiter at roorn temperature and 250 cc passage Of Solution per liour revealed Card 1/2 extraction of up to 9456 of the starting Mn and a concentration SOV/ 137-'ili-8- 16662 Percolation Leaching of Usa Ore of solutions of up to 30-36 g kin/liter. The depleted grit contains -I-T,114 Nin. The solutions emitted from the final percolator contain the following, in g/liter- Fc 3-4, NIg 2-3, Al 1.5-2, Ca 1-2, SiO-,. 2. Calculations are rnade of requirements per ton of metallic Mn for 2 varieties of pert:ola, iou leach- in,,,,. Nauchno-tekhn. konferentaii, posvyashch. dnyu radio. Tomsk, Tomskiy un-t, 1964, 41-44 TOPIC TAGS: PN junction, junction diode, silicon semiconductor, crystal dislocation I ABSTRACT: Reverse resistance restoration time is experimentally studied in a semi- conductor diod as a function of the density of dislocations in the crystal. Dislo- cation density~las intentionally increased by thermal quenching of Si crystals. - The density of dislocw-,ions in a crystal was increased by a factor of several hundred t when a sp cimen heated to 600-12000C was immfrsed in liquid nitrogen or liquid air. Aluminum Kre was nised to the resultant SP trystals at a temperature of 1,7000C. Crystals with a dialocation density of 1,5.106/cm2 produced semiconductor diodes with a reverse resistance regeneration time of 0.05 psec. Bibliography of 4 titles. L. L. A theoretical analysis is made of the ef- fect of the elasticity (during flexure of the belt) on the variation in the angle of lag 6 (between the driven shaft and the drive shaft) as a result of increasing the tensile force P in the belt in proportion to the increase of the resistance on the driven shaft. rhe approximate formula 6 611 p2- P1 Card 1/2 SO V/ 124- 58-5.50Z4 On the Operating Precision of Flexible-belt Transmissions is obtained, anti it is shown that in the case of the transmisHion parameters accepted in the manufacture of precision instruments the ervar rtsulting 15 when the calculations art! made with this forniula does not exceed 2 x 10- Reference is made to the satisfactory agreement between analytic al expecta- tions and the data obtained in experimental tests of instruments having a transmission of this type, M.K. TITLE: Approximate Calculation of (lie Stability of Fliti-jointed rrusses by Replacement of the Matrix of the Coefficients With a "Radial- structure" Matr.x (Priblizhennyy raschet ustoychivosti svobodnykh ram sposo- born. /,ameny matritsy koeffitsiyentov matritsey luchevoy struktury) PERIODICAL: Tr. Tashkentsk. in-ta zh.-d. transp., 1956, Nr 5, pp 187-203 ABSTRACT: This method of analysis is based on the fact that in some cases the characteristic -determinant matrix can be replaced by a matrix all of whose extradiagonal elements equal zero --- excepting the elements in the ore row and the one column corresponding to the displacement of the triss. A matrix of this type is called a "radial- structure" matrix. This concept is further extended to "cellular" matrices. Using .1 num- ber of examples, the author shows how neglecting the values of the extradiagonal elements may produce a small error in the calculation of the "critical parameter", i. e., of the eigenvalue. For calcutation of the eigenvalues a "trial -and-e r ror method" is rec omm ended, albeit the crAeria to be used in deciding what to try are not elucidated in the Card 1/1 pape r. L. K.
