Title :The Yok Self-Consistent Field for the Excited Helium Atom

Abstract :Solutions for the equations of the Yok self-consistent field are given for
the ls2s, lB2p) 153P) and ls4p configurations of the helium atom. A possible
simplification of the Yok equations is considered. The simplified Yok
equations are solved for the ls5p, ls6p,'ls3d, ls4d, ls5a bmd ls6d con-
figurations of the helium atom. These solutions are used to determine the
values of the total energy. The values of the total dipole strength are
given for the transitions between the ground configuration of the helium
atom and the excited configuratious, and also between the excited con-
figurations thauelves.

TEXT: Using analytical wave functions the author determined energy levels
of excited states of helium-like atoms from He to 00+, mass defect and relativis-,,,-
tic corrections to energy of some levels, as well as isotopic displacement of '
terms. In the case of S terms with n - 2, 3, the multi-configuration approxima-
tion is employed, and the effectiveness of this method for refining wave func-
tions in determining above-mentioned quantities is analyzed. Theoretical data
are compared with available experimental data and corresponding data of other
authors. Some considerations are presented as to accuraoy*of the known results.

with the prescribed load. This scheme Is the basis for ;uccessfU, regulating
of parallel -operating boilers. The system ensures a coasta.-Ut steam p=essure

Abstract To observe certain optical and electrical phenomena
in CaF2 crystals, the authors have used a complex me-
thod, consisting of measuring two quantities that
characterize simultaneously the porucesses that take
place. One of these was always the integral thermo-
luminescence, while the other was either the thermo-
emission, or the thermal absorption, or the thermo-
luminescence as a fvmction of the frequency. The
measurements were carried out at a constant temperatu-
re or at a temperature that was graduAlly increasing

using crystals of CnF2. dyed photochemically, addi-
tively, or by a combination of both methods. The
following can be conclvAed from the measurement re-
sults.. 1) the complex method makes it possible to
obtain more accurate information on the defects in
real crystals; 2) by choice of heat treatment and
coloring it is possible to locate the principal
maxima of thermoemission near 370, 480, and 6500 K,
corresponding tb the absorption bands near 3600,
5200, and above 5800 A; 3) the presence of colloidal
formations in the crystal does not prevent the obser-
vation of all three types of color centers, the ab-
sorption bands of which overlap the colloid baads;
4) thermoabsorption in CnF2 cannot be placed in a
one to one correspondence with the maxima of lumines-
cence and exommission, owinZ, to the overlap of the
absorption bands at hi3h temperatures;

Abstract A complex method was used to investigmte the absorption
thermolumitescence (M), and exoblectronic emission (EE$
of various naturally and artificially grown cryetals of
CaF2 (ton samples), colored photochemically, additively,
or by a coubination, of both methods, or else those sub-
jected to heat treatment prior to coloring. The measure-
mebte were mde of the absorption spectrum, the TL spec-
trum, and a simultaneous measurement of the integral TL

TEXT: The crysta Is were prepared in air by Kyropoulos' method and contained 0. 1 % Ni of Cd - I heit
dimensions weft 8 x 8 x 0.6 mm. Measurements were made with a Zeiss monochromator and a photo-
multiplier and revealed differences in the behavior of slowly and rapidly cooled crystals. The foirner showed
deviations from the results obtained by Toman (Czech. J. Phys. B 12,1962, 542). A comparison wi th the'l oman
experiments showed that irradiation with X-rays generates microregions of segregated impurities in the
crystals. These arc apparent in an increased dispersion of light in the ultra-violct region and disappear at
70*K. There are 6 figures.

The specificity of Lloyd's reagent (aluminium silicate) for absorption of creatint-
ne (1) was investigated by paper chromatography. The following solvent mixtures
were used: it-butanol-acetic acid-water, pyridine-picoline-w-iter and cresol- iso-
propanol-water. Paper strips 40 x 2.5 cm., detection with all-aline picrate. Be-
cause deproteinized serum gave insufficiently distinct spots. only artificial mix-
tures and urine were used. Chromatography was performed c-n each sample be-
fore and after treatment with Lloyd's reagent (detailed composition not stated). It
is concluded that not only I but also a number of other Jaffe'-positive substancev,
e.g. 0-hydroxybutyric, pyruvic and acetoacetic acids, indole. hydantoin, glycocy-
amidine, cholesterol and some unidentified compounds are adsorbed. On the other
hand some I remained unadsorbed. Rf values are given in tables.
