Abstract: It is the goal of the general education to provide the students with the latest discoveries of biological science. This must be based on a scientific level corresponding to contemporary biology. A historical review must be given concerning the origin and the properties of living matter followed by a review of general biological problems such as adapt- ation, specification, heredity, variability, levels of organization of living matter, etc. Such a carefully prepared biological course will be very helpful in providing the young people with a materialistic scien- tific concept about the world.
