Hence, an electron density function is plotted. Molecules studied and compared were benzena, aniline, nitrobenzene, and the ortho, meta and pars, forms of nitroaniline. It was assumed that the IT-electrons of the benzene nucleus and the p-electrons of the side-chains were in a potontial well with infinite sides, A distinction was made between molecules of type I, where the well had an extension of length equal to the difference in ionization potentials of carbon and the 4jide-chain atoin and molecules of type II which had no such extension.
