Abstract: Analysis of a nevr calorimetric method of measuring absorption of
onic waves in liquid. The heat exchange with the surrounding

for differential thermoelectromotive force where s is entropy reduced to a single
electron and e is electronic charge is true for arbitrary dispersion of the energy of
electrons in the conduction band. Explicit expressions are given for the thermoelec-
tromotive force in a quantizing magnetic field in the case of a nonparabolic zone of

TITLE: Firing Open-Hearth Furnace With Na-;ural Gas

ABSTRACT: The Seven Year Plan provides for ai increased
production o-. gas. In this connectioi a met!iod of
firing open-hearth furnaces with c3ld natural self-
carburating gas was developed Unde~- the supervision of
Academician Dobrokhotov, N. N. BefDre furnace combus-
tion, gas is preheate'd by the heat-~I) generated during
.gas combustion in the port, and (2 accumulated by
the lining of the port. In the foundry shop of the
Plant imeni Karl Liebknecht (zavod iment K. Ltbkhnekhta)
an open-hearth furnace was redesigned accordingly (see
Card 113 Fig. 2). Gas introduced through a vertical flue by

low-pressure burner, yields a luminous flame which
equals that produced by natural gas with 30 to 40%
mazut addition. Research is being continued to
simplify the design of furnace ports for natural self-
carburating gas and eliminate water-cooled flues.

Highly similar clinical pictures which developed In 2 siblinpa at the time of puberty
are discussed, together with the morbid -anatomical findings in the elder brother.
The disease of the siblings was characterized by juvenile personality changes,
slow mental regression. ataxia. pyramidal and extra-pyratrAdal. motor disturbances.
incontinence and uncontrollable fits of laughing. The most characteristic patho-
logical -anatomical findings In the elder brother were a widespread. non-systematic
demyelinization in the telencephalon, with massive accumulations of metachromat-
ic breakdown products containing lipid, carbohydrate and protein components. The
degree of demyelinization decreased caudally. The metachromatic breakdown
products extended beyond the demyelinated areas to the roots of the spinal cord,
I. e. to their non;.glial parts. Glial and Schwann ceU insufficiency is consider'ed to
be a selective and relative process, not concerned with removal of the secondary
and retrograde degeneration products by the glia, or with their liability to sclero-
its, since the metachromatic breakdown is a consequence of a disturbance of syn-
thesis. The metachromatic substance found in the renal tubules is interpreted as a

ABSTRACT: The Seven Year Plan provides for ai increased
production o-. gas. In this connectioi a met!iod of
firing open-hearth furnaces with c3ld natural self-
carburating gas was developed Unde~- the supervision of
Academician Dobrokhotov, N. N. BefDre furnace combus-
tion, gas is preheate'd by the heat-~I) generated during
.gas combustion in the port, and (2 accumulated by
the lining of the port. In the foundry shop of the
Plant imeni Karl Liebknecht (zavod iment K. Ltbkhnekhta)
an open-hearth furnace was redesigned accordingly (see
Card 113 Fig. 2). Gas introduced through a vertical flue by

low-pressure burner, yields a luminous flame which
equals that produced by natural gas with 30 to 40%
mazut addition. Research is being continued to
simplify the design of furnace ports for natural self-
carburating gas and eliminate water-cooled flues.

Highly similar clinical pictures which developed In 2 siblinpa at the time of puberty
are discussed, together with the morbid -anatomical findings in the elder brother.
The disease of the siblings was characterized by juvenile personality changes,
slow mental regression. ataxia. pyramidal and extra-pyratrAdal. motor disturbances.
incontinence and uncontrollable fits of laughing. The most characteristic patho-
logical -anatomical findings In the elder brother were a widespread. non-systematic
demyelinization in the telencephalon, with massive accumulations of metachromat-
ic breakdown products containing lipid, carbohydrate and protein components. The
degree of demyelinization decreased caudally. The metachromatic breakdown
products extended beyond the demyelinated areas to the roots of the spinal cord,
I. e. to their non;.glial parts. Glial and Schwann ceU insufficiency is consider'ed to
be a selective and relative process, not concerned with removal of the secondary
and retrograde degeneration products by the glia, or with their liability to sclero-
its, since the metachromatic breakdown is a consequence of a disturbance of syn-
thesis. The metachromatic substance found in the renal tubules is interpreted as a
