TEXT: The article presents a brief description of the "Szpak-4T", a 4-pas-
senger aircraft produced by the PZL from 1947 to 1948. Only 10 aircraft of this
type were built. The "szpak-4T" aircraft remained basically the same as the previ-
ous models, the "Szpak-2 and 3", i.e. wooden double-spar wings, cornice compensa-
tion controls, non-ref-ractable landing gear, V-braces made of duraluminum and man-
ually operated ailerons. The following modifications were introduced on the "Szpak-
-4T" aircraft: lattice-covered fuselage of welded chrome-molybdenum steel tubes,
fuselage fairing was lowered increasing the rear vision and at the same time giving
better aerodynamic properties; cabin space was enlarged and dual controls were in-
troduced. The aircraft is powered by a single 150 HP, Siemens-Bramo Sh-14, 7-cyl-
inder radial air-cooled engine. The 10 aircraft registration letters were from
SP-AAF to AAO. There are 3 figures and 2 photographs.

buflt urder foreign license. A brief history of the TS-11 "Iskra" is given:

Abstract: Authors describe their procedure and results of
their st-idy on the effect of a stroni ', UIIF electromagnetic
field on the serum proteins of rabbits, and note siiailar
effects noted in the literature. They found that exposure
to 3-cm electromagnetic waves produce after 4 hours a
decline in the total protein fraction of the serum, as well
as a decline in the albumin and Zlobulin, particularly gamma,
fractions. 11-iere are 20 references, of which about 10 are
Polish, and about '; each are Soviet and Western.

.Abstractz Safety control investigations at the bacteriology
labo ratory of the Meat Plants (Zaklady I" iosne) in Sluzewc
( *-,-Iarsaw) disclosed that the commonly used condiments give
rise in the meat to a variety of microorganisms some of
which are harmful, and the author lists these condiments
and microorganisms found in them. This occurs despite the
maintenance of sanitary production conditions, and such
processes as steaming do not elizaincto thow. The plant has
experimented with sterilization of Whe finished product,
but the process drives off many of ,-he ~,olatile acids. Use
of condiments, therefore, must be treated writh reserva-
';ions, and more stringent bacteriol().-ical controls must
