A preliminary report of the results of local application of hydrocortisone acetate
in 26 patients with various post-traumatic conditions such as limitation of function
after tention siituros, recurrent post-traurnatic effusions of the knee-joint or limit-
ation of movement due to post-trauniatic oederna. One to three iriections of hydro-

Hydrocortisone proved suitable in combating stiffness of joints after injuries.
oedema, damage due to adhesions after injury of tendons and effusion after relaps-
ing synovitis of the knee joint after injury. The results in epicondylitis were also
very favourable. In hygromas of the bursae and in peritendinitis crepitans, on the
other hand, the application of hydrocortisone does not shorten treatment or prevent
relapses. Among a total number of 107 patients treated, excellent results were re-
corded in 72, improvement in 22 and failures or relapses in 11 patients. Two pa-
tients were not followed up.

Abstract The authors determine the albedo of an infinite spherical
reflector with inside radiLIS R for a time-dependent neu-
tron current Jin = J_. The calculations are carried out
in the two-group approximation. To obtain a relation bet-
ween the ovtgoing current J + (of thermal and fast neu-
trons) and the incominj2, current J-, use is made of the di-
rect and inverse Laplace transformations. The incoming
thermal neutron current consists of two components, J.,
(returning current of thermal neutrons) and Jfs (slowing
down fast neutrons returning as thermal).

"thermal" constants by corresponding "fast" constants.
