TIOCT: The vacancy formation energies Ed were determined in Au, Cu, Ag, All
Zn and Pb by the electric resistance method and in All Zn and Pb by the dilato-
metric method. It is shown that Fd/Esd Z 1/3, where Fsd is the activation ener.
gy of selfdIffusion. The obtained Ed values are in a fair agreement with those
calculated theoretically for Ag, Au and Cu and also with the available experi-
mental data for some of the above elements. Therelative number of vacancies near
the melting point is calculated for some elements.

ABSTRACT: The elastic scattering of 13.6-MeV deuterons by strcntitin and tin iso-
topes. Measurements in the angle range 10 -- 1500 were rmde with a selective
scintillation spectrork-ater. Thd strontiul targets ur-M polystyrene films imp'reg-
nated with SrCO.,. In the angle regicn*0 - 30u, the peaks corresponding to elastic
@Cattering by the strontitn could be separated reliably fran the peaks correspcnd7
ing to the elastic scattering by carbon and oxygen. The tin targets were free-
standing foils 3 -_ Ll mg/an2 thick with 90% enrichment. In the re@ion of angles
larger t,.ian 250 the angular distributions of Sr have a clear out diffraction struc-
ture, changes little on going frw isotope to isotope. The angular distribu-
tionS. cl.",:alned for the tin isotopes are in good agreement with those of N. Cindro

;the tin isotopes me observes a clear out diffraction structure, with no noticeable
Idifference in the cross sections for the different isotopes. F@rcm the comparison
of the elastic scattering of deuterons by tin at 15, 13.6 and 11.8 MQV it is con-
cluded that the diffraction structure becomes rwre dlearly pronwraed with iro=vAs-
ing energy and shifts taAuds the smaller angles.
