The final test production of the JES3 system was successfully conducted during the period of 22 to 24 July. The majority of the problems encountered involved conflicts between ASP and JES3 JCL. A Tech Note is being prepared to remind users of changes that must be made to JCL. Most of the system problems encountered have been resolved. 2. A new release of VM (3.7.2A) was implemented on 26 July. This release contains direct support for Delta. Data terminals and facilities for the use of CAMEXEC. Several problems were encountered during the early stages of pro- duction. All but one have been resolved and corrected by means of a maintenance release (3.7.2B). A large number of problems was encountered by CAMEXEC users, however, but most of these problems were caused by malfunctioning terminals, procedural problems, and residual software residing on users' disks. STATINTL 3. In conjunction with the installation of the new release of VM, the BATCHMON system was enhanced to use the new NOTE facility which improves the legibility of multiple messages from BATCHMON to users. STATINTL 4. The IBM 2301 drum for CAMS has been tested and will be used for production on 28 July. 5. The SUPPLYMAN sub-system of the Inventory Control System has been accepted by Production Division as of 22 July. STATINTL 6. The medical personnel retrieval system, has been accepted by Production Division as of 22 July. Two thousand tracks of Share space were reclaimed by moving inactive data sets to the Setup Share pack. Another two thousand tracks were recovered from OGCR by requesting the release of unused space. Tasks Planned 1. An additional two or three weeks will be required before the new version of CAMS/HASP can be placed in production. Version 3 of the PL1 compiler will be installed in the Special Center during the coming w All EXCHANGE problems appear to have been resolved. 2. The second Friday-Sunday test of JES3 will be con- ducted during the period 29 to 31 July. 3. The 3272 controller for VM is scheduled to arrive on 27 July. STATINTL 4. ALLSTAR (77.2A) with th CS PTFs is scheduled to be available on 2 August. STATINTL Problems 1. A data spillage occurred on the VM printer at= Building on the 20th and 21st of July. SPD was notified. 2. The GIMS printer at as inoperable on 22 July because of a software problem. Frank) 3. Interruptions occurred to GIMPROD during the past week because of problems with the Calcomp 54X bank of disks. 4. The - Center experienced a power fluctuation on STATINTL 25 July. The outage was caused by two modules of the EMERSON 60 cycle UPS failing. The UPS is now operational. STATINTL 5. Tape I/O errors and an unstable computer system slowed payroll processing by four hours. 6. Attempts are being made to determine the extent of a RAMIS update problem.
