1. DEPUTY DIRECTOR (INTELLIGENCE)
The Deputy Director (Intelligence) will assist the Director of Central Intelli-
gence in the coordination of the intelligence activities of the Government, as
prescribed by statute and by National Security Council directives. He will also
be responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of the Offices of
Collection and Dissemination, Research and Reports, National Estimates, Intelli-
gence Coordination, Current Intelligence, Scientific Intelligence, and Operations,
and for the fulfillment of such additional functions as may be specified by the
Director. (See organization chart, Figure 1.)

The Deputy Director (Intelligence) will assist the Director Of Central Intelligence
in the coordination :of the intelligence activities of the Government, as prescribed
by statute and by National' Security Council directives, related to the overt collec-
tion of information and the production of substantive intelligence. He will also
be responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of the` Offices of Collec-
tion and Dissemination, Research and Reports, Nafiorial Estimates, Current
Intelligence, Scientific Intelligence, and Operations, and for t.3ie fulfillment of
such additional functions as may be specified by the Director. (See organization
chart, Figure 1.)
