,rExT -. Subject article analyses the characteristics of synthetic rubbers
used in the produc-~ion of tires. Among the rubber copolymers, butadiene-styrene
rubber is the mainly used synthe-tic rubber, even exceeding the use of natural
rubber in the production of tiree (Ret's. I - 5). Butadiene-styre-ne copolymers
are composed of four types of structural. units (Ref. 6), I.e... 1-4 transpolybu-
tadiene, 1-4 cis-polybutadiene, 1-2-polybutadiene and polystyrene. Reference is
made to the causes of this structural non-uniformity. These characteristics wem
improved by reducing the polymerization temperature. The reduction of tempera-
ture was made possible by the utilIzation of oxide -reduction. ("redox"! Systems
(Ref. 7). By reducing the pol rization temperature from 90 to r-OC.,

tribution of macrostructure and mlcrostru^~tur-_ was improved. The. cry-stallization
phenomenon is also more favorable with polymers prepared at low temperatures-

Mixtures Used for the Manufaeture of Tires
To prove the correctness of these theDretical ccnsiderations, laboratory tests
were performed with "cold" and "soft" bu-tadlene-styrenic synthetic rubber, the
first named "Buna-H81s-Ir: " and the 'atter "Europren-1,500", imported by Rumania
for the first time in 1959. The studies were connected with. the most important
elements of the tire, I.e,, the tread and the composition of' the cord2s rubber
coating. The rubber mixture prepared. on the basis of "Buna-HUls-150" and "Euro-
pren-1,50011 were compared with "SKS-1.0" rubber, previously depolymerized to a
"Defo" -of approximately 450 - 600 g. The follo-wing recipe was used for the tread
mixture (parts of weight'i" syntne-lic, rubbers 1100.,~ zinc oxide. 5, plasticiz-
er*. 14.5~ "Carbomet" lamp blackz 30,,,, "Furnal R-300" furnace blacks 30~ an-
ti-oxidizing agent PBNs 13 accelerator LM~, 0.6,,,, accelerator Dz 0.63 and
sulfur: 2.9. The proportion "Carbornet'Y"F-arnal R-300" was varied-~ 40 '/1-3~ 40/

Abstract : To take radiographs of parts of light materials, an x-ray
t-be with deceleration of the radiation was constr cted,

the necessity for facilitating and insoring safety of its

vity and greater film sensitivity. The x-ray tube with
slowing down of the radiation, thanks to its simplicity
of arrangement and vise, and also thanks to the low cost,
can be -.sed in laboratories that do not have expensive
x-ray apparatzis. It can find application in standardi-
zation of sintillatioa spectrometers for rays thanks to
the K line of the characteristic x-radiation from lead.

make-up (200-600C), and duration of charge gelatinization (3-9 minutes) on the mecha-
nical properties of polyester glass-plastic laminates was investigated. The binder
was composed of styrene and polydiethyleneglico.Imaleinatephthzilate. (11 Polymerization of
the laminates was conducte6 at 800C using 1.5% benzoyl peroxide ini,.a-zor. It was
found that the higher the styrene content, the greater the rate of bin,ier hardening.
The best mechanical properties of laminates (highest bending strength) resulted from

ABSTRACT: A ceramic of the (Pb, Cd) TiO system was studied for the first time,
It is shown that a semicondu2or type of conductivity is characteristic
of the investigated ceramic. Studying the temperature dependence of the
electrical conductivity 6 in the sample for various voltages of the
electric field E, the authors discovered that as B increases, the break
point of the curve 1g (5 - f(l/T) shifts In the direction olf the lower
temperatures. The temperature 3hift, expressed in OC, is direotly pro-
portional to E. The activation energy of the electrons of the fundamental
lattice decreases markedly as E increases, while -,,hat of the electrons of
