For this work a propane bubble cham"jer with a volume of 2 liters was inserted into a beam of positive pions of the synchrocyclotron of the United Institute for Nuclear Research. The nositive Card 1/5 pions were produced by a beam of positive 65o-MeV-protons in a The An&ular Correlaticris of the e+ - Decays 56-34-4-7/6o in a Propane Bubble Chamber polyethylene target, The traces of t'ae particles in the cham- ber were taken by a stereoscopic camera.. 2 possilmlities for the determination of the angular distributions are stiown. A dia~;ram illustrates the an_f-ular distributions of the positrons for 2 series of takin.~s with 4353 and 2408 cases, The asymmetry coefficient for the first series aniounts to -0,16.5 _+ 0,037. The majnetic f ~ old of I U" Ir-auss causes a low depolarisation ol- the n'ositive myons. For the second series of takings a = -(r-,14 * 0,05. From this for both series the mean value a = -009 * 0,03 re~sults. Both distributions a~gree well with the assump- tion of the poiitive myons in the n+ - p+ -decay. Remarkable distort~,.ons in the shape of the anb-ular distribution of the positrons can occur only as a consequence of overlookin'- of -,,+ - J_-+ - e+ decays in the sca~._Lii,L; of the film. The ratio a propanc./a determines the deCree of' the de- polarisation of the positive r-yons in proparie. The coefficient of asymfl-letry for the elementary process, computed from the found mean experimental value of a, has the value -0,256 + 0,033, At Card '113 the end the author thanks the Member of the Academy "I.I. The energy of the positrons was measured according to the method of multiple scattering. First a formula is given for the distribution of the decay positrons; it takes the non- conservqtion of parity into account. The available experimen-, tal data essentially concern a conotant figuring in the above- mentioned eauation. The juthop used the tracks of low-energy positronEi of 10 000 7 -4 e decays (Flaf 1). A table 7ives the values'of a' (for the low.energy-pnxt of the positron c!rectrum) 'Por the energy intervals 0 - 0,26 ; 0 - 0,3E 0 - OAE , where 6 = E/',E max denotes the energy of the positron.9 in units of the maxim-um energy of their spectrum. The angular distribution of the positrons taken into account in the above-tuntioned table may be described adequately by the law 1 + a cos T , The measured values of at in the energy region < 20 MeV are an argument in favor of tha r..o. sitive sign of a'. Four two-prong stars were found to satisfy completely all the selection criteria, along with three doubtful cases. Reasons are advanced for assuming that all seven two-prong stars are cases of the reaction*ff~_ + p -* n + to with the subsequent (z - e* + e- decay of the co meson. The sources of back- ground reactions are ahalyzed. Amino acids were determined by chromatographyp and a FEK-H colorineter was used for quantitative analysis. Transamination was measured by Slutamicoasparaginic and glutamicoalanine transaminase activity. Lard 2/2 ACCESSION NR: AT3013145 Results show that a 500 r radiation dose reduces the level of free amino acids in brains of newborn rats with no significant change in amino acid composition of brain protein, In adult Irradiated animals the free amino ac-11.d level does not change, but activity of glutamicoasparaginic and glutamicoalanine transwninases is reduced 3. days after irradiation. Glutamicoasparaginic transamination remains depressed on the 8th and 15th days and is restored only between' the 25th and 35th days, Glutamicoalanine aminopherase starts to increase by the 8th day and fluctuates 11ttle at later dates, In newborn rats trannamination activity io also reduced* Reduced activity of both glutsmicoasparaginie an4 glutamicoalanine transaminases In adult and newborn animals may be related to low protein syn-,,,hosis functioning of brain cells in irradiated animals. On this principle, the Instituto of Metallurgy has worked out a lithium-chlorito monitor designed on the basis of a standard copper resistance thermometer of type ETH-Kh. A hygroscopic tissue impregnated with a saturated lithium-chlorits solutlon Is stened on the sensitive element of the resistance thercr>-meter and silver or platinum electrodes .eGorTected with an a I terns ting-current souxce are arranged on top of the tissue 1/2 ACCESSIMI INR: AR4015620 in two parallel spiral coils.
