ABSTRACT: 7his Author-a Certificate Introduces: 1.
A device for automatically Ana-
lyzing reirmograms and constructing seismic
profi,'.eo. The unit Is based on Author's
Certificate No. 166503. Efficiency of analysis in
improved Nr mcrunting a cathode ray
tube on a coxriage Vhich is moved &long a
rhotodrius by a vorm geox or ratchet turned
by the shaft of the photodrum. 2. A modification
of this device in vhich measurement
quality is inproved by connecting a savtooth
genc-ator through a programmed amplitude
regulator to the vertical deflection system of ths
cathode rNr tube.

ABSTR&CT: Iidividual authors (references 1-8) ascribe
~Afferent structures to
Vie niobates and tantalates. In several cases the part
played by the
witer and the position of the water are not taken into
account. An

of isoto-
pLe exchange which was also emplc)yed by the authors in the
present
piper was employed in the investigation of another binding.
In the
tBsts they used water enri(-.hed mith 012(1,28 atom-0/o
012). The ex-
ciarLge was carried out at 950C in saturated solutions of
these salts;
s)diLw6.penta- and -hexa-tantalate, as well as
potassium,.hexa. and
-netaw-niobate. The duration of test was 5 hours, By
hydrolysis the
s)lutions had an alkaUrie -reaction (pli - 1142). The method

may be
&~en that not only the oxygen of the waterbcund in the

eaters into the isotopie exchanEa, but also -the entire
oxygen from
t.-ieir anlons. Further all oxperimental values of 0
-content in water
were rruch smaller than the calculated ones. Ihese
deviations lie out-
sLds the experimental error. These results may be explained
by the
f7actionation:of the oxygen-isotope which prcceeds in the
direction
oC the enriehmant of the salt with heavy isotope (references
12,14).
,ki follows from table 2.. a complete exchange of oxygen
from the was
t~)r, as solvent, and from the anions of these salts also
takes place
ii the case of potassiiun-hexy- and _meta~riotate, But no
enrichment
o.-' the salt with heavy oxylyen-isDtope takes place here.
This diffe-
r,)nce is apparently brought about due to a higher molecular
weight of
the niobates as compared with the tantalates. As regards the
tantala-
t,)s investigated; in this respect they apfroach the
aquo-poly-tungsta-
tiis, Thus all oxygen atoms of the above-mentioned 4 salts
and combin
nid water are accessible to the isotopic exchange with water
as a
solvent. The eq1J.1-ibrium is comparatively early attained
(within 5
hours).

a system of rotating bodies of arbitrary shape, and develops the
relativistic uquations of translational motion of*the centers of

about
their centers of gravity from the gravitational equations. She
uses
an approximato method due to Pok (Ref. 1: Fok V.A. ZhETF, 9,

TITLEs Preparation of GdSb thin films by vacuum evaporation
SOURCE: Kxistallografiyap vo 9# no. 4, 3.964, 574
PDPIC TAGS: gallium compound, thin film, vacuum evaporation, elec-
tron diffraction, crystallite, carrier m.,)bility, carrier density
ABSTRACT: The electrical properties of GaSb thin films have not
been sufficiently investigated because the composition of the
films
differs considerably from that of the original material. The
method
of pre- aring GaSb films described in thLs paper consists in
continu-
.P
ously supplying a small amount of material to a prelleated
evapora-
tor by means of a screw turning inside a hollow cylinder. The
temper-
ature of the evaporator was chosen sucli as to allow a
sufficiently
fast rate of evaporation of gallium. !~'he structure of the thir
films
Cord 1/3
ACCESSIOU NR: AP4043197
was investigated by electron diffraction. In thin layers the GaSb
was found to be amorphous with d, = 3.50, d 2 = 2.00, and d3 = 1.30
A.
The maximum temperature at which the ~morjihous phase still appears
depends on the substrate and.on the rate of deposition. At higher
temperatures the films are a polycrystalli.ne mixture of the cubic
and
previously observed hexagonal phase. Hall measurements and ele6tron
diffraction showed the films to be stoicbiometric, The starting
material for reparing the films was p-type GaSb with a carrier mo-
bility 670 cXv-sec and a carrier density 1.75 x 1017 cm-3, W11ile
the films had a carrier mobility of 630 cr)2/v-sec an(] a carrier
density of 1.5 x 1017 CM-3. This relatively low carxier concentra-
tion indicates tbe possibility of obtaining stoichiometric sanq)les
and the- high mobility indicates th'e sufficiently good quality of
the crystallites constituting the film. 'The autbors thank Prof.
Z. G. Pinaker for a discussion and useful advice." Orig. art. has:

TEXT: The tinalysis starts with-the Tollowing model: a gaseous
sphere is heated to a very high teme-arature so that relativistic
effects must be taken into account;- the sphetre is held by its
own gravitational-field. Radial puliiations of this model are
then analysed, taking into account d:Lssipative processes. The
medium is looked upon-as a mixture of two gases, namely, an
ideal gas aTid a photon gas. It was iihown by Landau and
Lifshits (Ref. 3) that under these c4inditions thermodynamic
quantities are additive and the therctodynamic, parameters c,
ps Cr can be expressed (the author,, Ref. 1, Stanyukbvich,
Ref. 4 and sommerfelld, Ref- 5) in the form

ABSTRAM A finiie form of a set of equations cof motion is terived

To investigate the dynamics of secondary ionic emission a
mothod was developed
that permits one to study the time characteristics of
secondary processes. A beam
of Ions is freed of neutral particles and is molulated with
respect to intensity by
an oscillator geaerating rectangular impulRen with a
frequency of 500-1,000 cp"
(first viodulatioa is directed against an incandescent
turge'.); the secondary ions
are gathered by a collector whose potenUal relative to the
target is modulated by
a saw-toothed os-Allator of 25 cps (second modvila.tion).
