ABSTRAkT: A direct mathod for determining the transfer characteristics and, ther*-
fore, the amplification factor of cryotrons is described. The mathaduses & WANory
cell consisting of two cryotrousi an indicating cryotrda and the cryotron under
study. The transfer characteristics are recorded for constant resistance values of
the cryotron filter so that differences between experivientally me"uted sad actual
values.of threshold currents do not depend on the grid current., Cryotron ampliftea-
tion factors of 1.6 and 2.2 were experimentally found. 7hss* values of cryotrou amp-
lification factors were used to choose the minimum relationship between width* of the
filter and the grid in order to decrease the operation time of the cryatron. AU the

ABSTRACT: Witnessing the work of screws which brace the flange
and drum In the 14 11 P - 200 plunger pump at the
"Gidroprivod" plant in Kharlkav has proved that it Is
possible to reduce significantly the tension In
screws by increasing the rigidity in tbs joining
parts. The calculation of stresses acting on tha
flange and screws is given. The vell known chart of
stresses and deformations in scretted Joints was

steels were computed. To increase the rigidity of
jammed parts the gap between butta of the flange
and drum was eliminated, consoqueotly the screws

ABSTRACT: An investigation is made of the effect of hiesit treatment,
straightening, and aging upon a at various tomperatures in
specimens cut from the heads o~ R-50 and R43 ra.-Ils, made of
Bessemer and open-hearth steels. It is established that norm-
alization and refining increase ak in the cold-ahortness temp-
erature interval, shifting the upp*T threshold of cold shortness
from 00 to -90oC and the lower threshold from -100 to - 1600.
The effects of straightening were studied In specimens work-
hardened by Z. 4, and 8 bends in a die. StraLghtening raises
the upper threshold of cold shortness by Z~,00 after Z bends and
Card 1/2 by 600 after 4, but does not affect its lowor thresholdi it also

reduces ak in the cold-short temperature interval. The aging of heat-treated
steel after 4 and 8 bends reduces the ak in the ductile state and raises the
cold-shortness threshold. Open-hearth steel is legs prone to temper brittle-
ness on aging than is Bessemer steel.

ABSTRACT: An electron-beam tube with accumulated charges has been
used for the first time In a multi-channel analyser for amplitude-
time transformation. by I.V. Shtranikh (Ref.1). The results of
analysis were thereby recorded by neams of mechanical counters.
A feature of the analyzer described in this paper, is the
system of high-speed recoiaing of the results of analysis, whereby
the new method can be materialised not only in conjunction with an
electron,-beam tube, but also in conjunetioa witb ferrite cores,
for instance. This method was ori inally))ro sed by one of the
authors at the end of 1952 (Refs. ~ and 9 1 ra this paper, a
multi-chann I amplitude analyser is described, applying the here
mentioned new method of recording the results of analysis on an
electron--beam tube with charge accumulation. The first model,
O-AA-1, has 64 channels; the second model, 9A A-2, which is at
present in operation, differs little from the first one, but

TITLE: A high-frequency rotating field in a cylindrical
resonator

TEXT: The experiments veto carried out with 4 copper a lindrical
resonator 255 am dia. The supply generator wave leng-th was ap-
proximately 40 am. The indication of the fields inside the resons-
vor was obtained by a loop and two plus. The loop was placed In
the bWond-out-off section of a circuliLr waveguios and could be ro-
tated around the axis of the latter. The dimensions of the loop
(,~j 10 x 10 mm) and its distance from the end f4ce surface of the
resonator were chosen in such a mazwer that the loop would not 4is-
tort the field patterns inside the resonator. The rods were orisn-
ted in the direction of the electric field of both passive and ac-

larizations superimposed on each other and with accurate tuning to
