Periodical: Gidraliznaya I lesokhim. prom-at', 1955, No 1, 20-21
Abstract: It Is recommended to use at hydrolysis plants annular filter-traps
(F) designed by A. T. Chunadurov, A. 0. Kyunaman and A. U. Sorochuk,
for the purification of wash from bark and other large size admix-
tures. A defect of F is the great weight of the component parts.

ABSTRACT: The paper is a continuation of' earlier work (Ref 3).
The problem has been previously investigated in Ref 2
and 3, among others. The results of these two
investigationn do not agree because Chernina (Ref 2) did
not take the flow conditions completely into account.
In the present paper, the material of' the plate is
assumed to he rigid -plastic without hardening and to be
subject to the Mises-Tresca plasticity conditions. The
radial and tangential bending moments are 1.1 and N
respectively. The generalized deformation velocities
are given by Eq (1.1), where w is the deflection
velocity, and assuming the existence of a plastic
potential, the flow law is such that the deformation

Comments to this article by V.S.Chernina
The author of the comments notes that nimuJtaneously
with the solution given by Z. Kruz and A. Savchuk of the
problem defined in the title, the same solution was
obtained by P.G.Hodge (Yield Point Load of an Annular
Plate. J.Appl.Mech, Sept 1959). A correction is
introduced into a previous paper by the author of the
comments (The Carrying Capacity of an Annular Plate
Loaded by a Uniformly Distributed Pressure, Izvestiya
Akademii nauk SSSR, DTN, 1958, Nr 7). The author
acknowledges that the bearing capacity derived in tier
abovementioned paper is a lower limit only. /C

ABSTRACT: An analisis Is made of a method for calculating a ring resonator with
supplementary exte, nal mirrors to obtain traveling wave excitation. The method is
based on the theory-of long lines as applied to the analysis of conditions for natural
oscillation of the.system. The essential part of the external arrangement Is a system
of two mirrors: ope, with a partial transmission, is inclined to the beam, and the
other, which is fu!lly reflectin& is placed perpendicularly to the beam. A system of
equations is given: for the wave amplitudes as functions of the distance between the
mirrors and their iranamission and reflective indexes. The scattering matrix of the
system is determined relative to the complex wave number, the real and Jmaginary parts
of which represent', respectively, the natural frequency and the attenuation factors.
The problem is solved for certain special cases. and from these solutions the relatlon-~_
ship between the wave number and the parameters of the entire system (expressed

through a constantj can be deduced. Generally, however, the unavoidable reflection
from the end facer;of the resonator produces a reverse wave which must be eliminated
before the operating traveling wave can travel only in one direction. This can ba
achieved either by coatings or by causing the reflected beams to deviate from the
resonator axis and! thus be ousted from the system. A rectangular ring laser, with
near-optimal paramiters, equipped with two supplementary mirrors as described, and
with the end reflection eliminated by inclination of the active medium with respect
to the vesonator optical axis, was experimentally investioated under actual traveling-

resistance of the pipe, offering a combined resilience under
changing load pressure from above. Vor this reason ribbed
construction of pipes can be dispensed with. The amount
of additional deformation of pipes caused by heavy machinery
was insignificant an compared -vith the deformation obtained
from the load of the 3m high terrace; ouch peak displaosment94
did not amount to more than ela of the total deformation.
