5. Letter of Commendation
The Director of Security read excerpts from a letter
of commendation sent to the Deputy Director for
Administration by a Deputy to the DCI concerning the
exceptional fine performance of
during the time they acted as
an Agency liaison er serving President Carter
between the time of his election and his inauguration.
Mr. Gambino added his own thanks and the thanks of
the Office and the Directorate for a job very well
done.
6. DCI. Designate
Admiral Turner and his staff are currently housed
in the Executive Office Building where the Admiral
is readying himself through briefings and readings
for his 22 February Congressional confirmation hearing.
7. Edwin G. Moore, II Case
The case continues to proceed slowly. The Agency
has given the prosecuting attorney a damage assessment
report which will soon be reviewed by the defense
attorney,
8. Briefcase Checks at Headquarters
The Chief/OPS/PTOS advised that comments by office
Heads concerning the briefcase checks made by the
Office of Security have been overwhelmingly favorable.
He also advised that the exercise will be repeated
in the very near future.
9. Promotion Recommendations
The Chief/AMTD requested that promotion recommendations
for clerical personnel and GS-lls and below be forwarded
to the Personnel Branch before the end of February.
