SUBJECT: Office of Security Significant Activities
Week of 26 August 1977 (U)
REFERENCE: DDA Administrative Instruction No. 74-5
1. (U) This memorandum is for information only.
2. (U) The activities of the Office of Security during
the week of 26 August-1 September 1977 were highlighted by
the following items:
a. (C) On 29 and 30 August at the request of
the Operations Directorate. Office representatives
b. (U/AIUO) On 31 August the DCI approved an
industrial polygraph program to be implemented on
a selective basis. A team of two Office of Security
polygraph examiners will proceed to the West Coast
during the week of 4 September to continue the of -
graph interviewing of selective
personnel.
c. (U/AIUO) On 31 August the Office of Security
expedited Sensitive Compartmented Information access
approvals of staff officials of the newly established
House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. The
Committee's Sensitive Compartment Information storage
facility was given security accreditation on the same
day.

d. U/AIUO After more than 10 years of service,
25X1A the of the Operations Directorate
was formally closed on 1 September 1977. A Book Cable
has been sent over the signature of the Director for
Operations restating his desire that the procedural,
physical and technical security support of the Office
of Security continue unabated. A Notice is currently
being circulated throughout the Operations Directorate
identifying the names and locations of the Security
Office components who can handle the various security
problems that may arise.
3. (C) Projected Office of Security activity for the
week of 2 September of possible interest at the Directorate
level include:
