SUBJECT: Office of Security Significant Activities
Week of 2 September 1977 (U)
REFERENCE: DDA Administrative Instruction No. 74-5
.1. (U) This memorandum is for information only.
2. (U) The activities of the Office of Security during
the week of 2-8 September 1977 were highlighted by the follow-
ing items:
a. (C) On 6 September two Office of Security
polygraph examiners left for an extended TDY assign-
ment in the Latin American area to service require-
b. (C) On 7 September two representatives of
the Office of..Security drilled open a safe located
in the sub-basement of the Capitol. This action was
taken at the request of the Director, Senate Office
of Classified National Security Information, made
through the Office of the Legislative Counsel (OLC).
c. (U/AIUO) On 8 September a representative
of this Office conducted an inspection of storage
facilities of the House Committee on Standards of
Official Conduct. The inspection, also arranged
by OLC as the contact point for dealings with the
Congress, focused on physical security standards
appropriate for storage of Agency__maerial.

REFERENCE: DDA Administrative Instruction No. 74-5
1. (U) . This memorandum is for information only.
2. (U) The activities of the Office of Security during
the week of 26 August-1 September 1977 were highlighted by
the following items:
a. TC) On 29 and 30 August at the request of
the Operations Directorate Office re re,
provided security
and his family.
b. (U/AIUO) On 31 August the DCI approved an
industrial polygraph program to be implemented on
a selective basis. A team of two Office of Security
polygraph examiners will proceed to the West Coast
during the week of 4 September to continue y-

personnel.
co (U/AIUO) On 31 August the Office of Security
expedited Sensitive Compartmented Information access
approvals of staff officials of the newly established
House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. The
Committee's Sensitive Compartment Information storage
facility was given security accreditation on the same
day.

the M of the Operations Directorate
was formally closed on eptember 1977. A Book Cable
has-been sent over the signature of the Director for
Operations restating his desire that the procedural,
physical and technical security support of the Office
of Security continue unabated. A Notice is currently
being circulated throughout the Operations Directorate
identifying.the names and-locations of the Security
Office components who can handle the various security
problems that may arise.

week of 2 September of possible interest at the Directorate
level include:
