An analysis was perfortied on experir;iental data on fading radio echoes from meteor trails measured oa 800 and 1,600 km paths at frequencies of 40.3, 42.3, 57.4 and 44 negahertz and radar data at frequencies of 34 and 608 megahertz. Tlae experi-ientpl statistical cliaractcr- istics of the echoes are presented in the various sta-,es of development of fading. The quantitative characteris tics agree well with fading theory based on turbulence principles. During the fornation of fadin.-, there is a tendency toward an increase in the probability of appearance of fading of a meteor radic, echo of given duration witii an increase in the radiation,frequency used. Ingots were processed by extrusion through an eyelet. The microhardness of as-cast and as-deformed alloys was determined. The mechani- cal properties of alloys (short-term fracture) were determined at 500, 600, 700, and 1000'. The ridnimum m.'crohardness for cast alloys is obtained with 0.7-2.0% W. To judge by microhardness, all melts after extrusion were more homogeneous than as-cast. Softening of the investigated alloys occurs in the 700-10000 range. The optimum combination of strength and plastic prop- erties at room temperature is observed in the alloy with 2% W. Three illustrations. It employs a mercury capillary coulometer-integrator as the memory. An amplifier need not be used at noise levels above 100 db. Tescs with the meter showed that it has a sensitivity of 10.juamps at 100 db and can be used continuouslv at this level. for 680 hours. Cumulative noise is read out in arbitrary units or in ttw/hr/cM2.
