A buy, 11 months old, showed normal CSF, purpura haemorrhagica
involving the
whole.body, and thrombopenia of 78,000. There were 631o lymphocytes
on a total of
19,200 white blood cells. Bone marrow puncture indicated an allergic
inhibition.
There were a large number of promyelocytes and myclocytes, D:few
thrombocytes
and no megakaryocytes. The erythrocyte count was normal. The
condition aggravat -
ed, the purpura developed into pustules which became suppurative
after a few hours,
The joints of the knees, ankles and wrists were swollen, the skin
over them red
and hot, All the phenomena disappeared gradually after the 7th day.
The condttion
is considered as a rare complication of a smallpox vaccination that
the boy had had

ABSTRACT: 1219 EEG curves of psychiatric patients were
investigated; sleep activity
appeared in 27-7%; it appeared in the second half of the
examination and lasted
15-20 minutes. External stimuli made it disappear, but in 43%
it appeared again
during hyperventilation. In normal curves superficial sleep
curves are more frequent;
in abnormal records deep sleep is found more often. All 6 manic
patients examined
had sleep activity. Sleep-rhythm frequency was less frequent in
abnormal curves,
mainly in adolescents and in people with mild sleep
disturbances. Sleep activity
during hyperventilation depends on the length of the
examination. Sleep activity in
macrorhythms of EEG is connected with marginal factors of
psychic disorders. Orig.

oscillator due to variation of distance between the commutator
surface and an
inductive (or capacitive) sensor. The inductive sensor
comprises a coil on a
ferrite core with an airgap; the sensor is firmly fastened to
the machine, near the
commutator surface. The coil forms a part of the oscillatory
circuit. The
resolution of the new device is claimed to be adequate:
oscillograms show the
profiles of the entire commutator, of a one-aixth part of it,
and of an individual
