SUBJECT: Review of Adapter Plate Design for
SC-l/SC-3 Terminals
1. The drawing for a proposed adapter plate for
attaching the SC3 3 antenna to existing SC-1 anchor bolts
has been reviewed at your request. Since there has been
no change from the original requirements, we feel the
present design is quite adequate. No substantial cost
savings can be expected from minor detail changes to
reduce fabrication time. The adapter plate designed by
RECD tried to minimize elevation change and minimize addi-
tional weight load on the roof. Without these constraints,
a simpler design may be possible. We suggest the SC.3
antenna manufacturer be asked for a proposal for an
adapter if this has not already been done.
2. For those locations where the SC-1 antenna is
installed on a flush slab, it is recommended that the SC-3
be installed directly onto the slab using expansion bolt
anchors-in-lieu of an adapter plate. The adapter plate
could be used in those locations where the SC-l is currently
on pedestal supports. STATINTL
