Abstract: Test made at the Agronomic Scientific Research In-
stitute in 1954-1955 together with the Institute
of Biochemistry show that seeds of sunflower and
corn which have been treated with hydroquinone,

substances have a considerably hi@her yield. The

dosage and method of administration. Under the best conditions

origin of various cross-valleys in the Carpathians. The author
points out that most theories concerning the piercing mechanism
of the Carpathian range by the Danube, Jiu, Olt and Mures are
slu"ll in dispute, with the only mechanism which may be con-
sidered proved being the capture of the Dragan and Sebee by
the Rapid Cris. Various views are presented on the origin
of the valleys of the other streams as well as on the origin
of the straits , partial valleys and other characteristic

There was pure aortic stenosis in 32 caseq, aortic stenosts associated with aortic in-
sufficiency in 102 cases and aortic stenosis associated with mitral stenosis in fW4 cases.
With the exception of the mitral association, the condition is well tolerated for manv
years (10-20 yr.). However. the mortality is high (20%), death occurring ws a rule
alter the age o( 40 -, once decompensation set% in, death generally ensues within 5 IT.
Bacterial complications occur often, especially in men (8%); they are of particular
