Preliminary work has been done toward the construction of a special stand for testing the disconnecting switches, commutation devices and transformers for their thermal and dynamic stability. This stand will have provisions to test switches and equipment for voltages from 6 to 400 kv at various operating conditions, using test current power lines or surge generatore. The divergence between calculated and measured values of heat consumption varied between 2.9 and the calculated values being lower in every case than the measured values.
