water washes the protective film off the steel surfate, but as the temoerature rises,
the inhibitor adheres more strongly to the metal surface. Hydrocarbon-soluble inhi-
bitors (Ca salt of SS-3, Pikon, alkylohenoxyacetio acid) inhibit corrosion very
effectively at 20 and 506C In a stream of liquid. The effect of decrease of the cor-
rosion rate upon addition of inhibitors to 2-3 times as great as the effect of de-
crease in the tensile strength. Hydrocarbon-solublo Inhibitors are recomended for
protection of the equipment :In gas-oondeneate wells. Orig. art. h&sS I figure and

ABSTRACT: The effectiveness of water and hydrocarbon soluble corrosion inhibitors
(diamminedioleate, calcium salt of sour tar--a by-product of oil additives SB-3, Pb
8/2K, A, and 2, and imported inhibitors--primary and secondary amines) was examined
by the potentiostatic method. The inhibitor concentration was varied in the 100-600
mg/l range. Polarization resistance was measured (at 200C) as a function of time (15-
-90 min) for steel samples immersed in a mixture of benzene and 3% aqueous NaCl solu-
tion containing 10-2 mol of hydrogen sulfide per 1000 ml (volume ratio 1:1). The
steel samples were subjected to a constant anodic current of 0.025 mA/cm3. In all ex-
periments, the potential difference was of the order of up to 100 mv and It was mea-
sured using a potentiometer with a measurement accuracy of 2-3 mv. It was concluded

that the potentiostatic method may be utilized in assessing the anticorrosive effec-
tiveness of the inhibitors in media composed of water and liquid hydrocarbons. All
inhibitors tested were found to Increase the potentiostatic resistance of steel by a
factor of at least five in cmparison with the uninhibited systems. The highest in-
hibition effectiveness for steel exhibited diamminedioleate; when used in concentra-
tion of 600 mg/1 its inhibition effectiveness was found to be practically time inde-

Abstract : Foam rubber sheets are not more costly than the ones made
of turf and are superior to them: they are not hydrophi-
lie, there is no aeration Inside the material, the micro-
flora stays on the outside and has no favorable conditions
for reproduction. All these factors prevent the develop-
sent of oxidation at the end of the needle Inserted lnlo
the rubber. The.r:ubber is resistant tovards the antibio-
tic factors of the inner medium. The physical proper-
ties of anazot do not change for teas of years. The
author glued pieces of the microporous rubber 5 m thick
into two layers (rejects from the aviatton industry)

ABSTRACT: An A11-Union conference on increasing labor productivity and reducing
production costs in mining enterprises was hold 15-17 September 1965 in Krivoy
.Rog. The conference was attended by 312 persons from various organizations.
The monthly productivity per worker in 1964 was 89.3 tons for commercial ore
and 186 tons for raw ore, an increase of 16.3 and 52.5% respectively over
1958. Recommendations are made for further increasing 1&bor productivity and
improving the quality of commercial oros. The titles of soute of the reports
are mentioned but no authors are given.

cerembycid wood-boring beetles Rhopalopus macropus
and Clytus arietis which settle In the swamp cypress
In addition to inhabiting deciduous species. The
article describes the larval passages of R. macro-
pus. In the breeding enclosures containing mater-
ial on which the larvae feed, the Ichneumon fly
Perosis albopicta (Pimplinae) also developed.
This Is apparently the larval parasite.
