The degree to which the Watts maps correct the libration effect in the moon radius an a function of latitudinal optical libration Is investigated (see RZhAct, 1964, 10-51.48's). The results of the deter- mination of the corrections to the ep~.emeral radius values according to the data from Kazan' hellometrLc observations (1938-1945), which were corrected by the Watts maps, disclosed the dependence on the latitudinal optical ILbration with the coefficient of the libration effect at the radius 1( = +0",037 t- 0",008 and Ro - -o",689 + 0",032. There is a difficulty in the tbeory of Moon libration, namely, that tile per- tinent differential enuation leads in some cases to a resonance phenomenon which is not compatible with observations. S.G. Makover and 5h. T. Khabibulin offered wa~zfor the removal of this dif'iculty (Ref. Zh. Astr. 1962, HA114, ref 76). M.D. Polanuer is working on a more rigorous theory. Other difficulties emerge from the method of ob- servation usually used for the determination of constant librations and are related to the necessity of accounting for the unevennesac,f the Moon's edge. Difficulties appear in assessing such fact as the Yakovkin effect, i.e. the non-symmetry of the northern and southern hemispheres of the Moon, et.c. A inethodology dispensing with the measure-- ment of the lunar disk's edge is required. A.A. Yakovkin method is one of these, requi. To eliminate interference from induced voltages, it is suggested that the measurement of no-'se spectral density at frequencies over Z mc, where the line-spectrum intensity of the interference is negligible, be made by narrow-band measuring receivers used as spectrum analyzers '-friecessary, Card 112 9 6 (6) SOY/112 58 3 4795 Method for Measuring the Spectrum of Noise Produced by a TV Camera Tube the measuremerts could be made at individual points of the rarge below 2 rnc, one can take advantage of the fact that at frequencies which are muJt,pJes4 of I~j- (where T is the interference -pulse duratJon.) the ;nterference -Lopectrum ervelope passes through zero. These frequencies can be folind experimentally from the spectr%m, determined with the cutoff beam. Ilt is suggested that tvpe IP 12 or IP-15 serial interference rnet,-rs be uted for measurements, they should be connected to the output of the video preamplifier.
