The summary curve The ~_-Radiation of Eu152' 154 46- 7-6/21 (the sum of the individual components represented by thin lines) on the whole agrees within the statistic limits with the experi- mental points. The obtained energy- ~--lines anJ their relative intensities are given in table I together with the data of other authors. The difference in the intensities in certain domains Is to be explained by inexact work of the "electron" under its old wofting Eu --"4 brought about a considerable clearing up of the isotope decay of EuI52 and BuI54, but It was not yet possible to con- atruct a final scheme of the decay of these isotopes. The values on the relative intensities of the ~--lines. which were obtained by the authors, together with the values obtained by other author make it possible to determine the multifields of the --transi- tions (table 2). The purpose of the present paper is to develop an dt-spectrommUr with a nodving power of 0.10 % at an aperture ratio of 0.3 % of 4 r. Li the first part of the paper, the experimental arrangement (electromagnet with its screening and current supply, evacuation plant, accomodation of the radioactive sources, as well as the geometrical control of the ot-ray) is described in detail, and supplemented by figure 1 (pole shoes) and figure 2 (chamber). The second part deals with the measurement of the nial-symmetric magnetic field. The focusing angle to Indicated Card 1/3 with Irff, and three papers are mentioned showing that Magnetic a-Spectrometer SOV/48-23-7-1/31 spectrometers of this type have the most favorable relation between resolution and light Intensity. Those lines are indle cat*d, and it Is ascertained that the last three of these lines cannot be calculated by the known formulas for the in- tensity of the a-transitions. I, TITLE: OW the Thermal Radiation of-C-a-ib-oji-Dioxide in the Atmosphere (0 teplovom izluchenii uglekislogo gaza v atmosfere) PERIODICAL: Izvestiya akademil nauk SSSR, Seriya geofizichesitaya 1958, Nr 12, pp 1470-1476 (USSR) ABSTRkCT: It was noticed that the carbon dioxide gas shows the intensive absorption band in the infra red end cf the spe- trum and therefore the thermal radiation of this gas repre5 ents a significant factor in the general radiation cf -,he atmosphere. The purpose of this work is to determine the transmission function of the atmosphere at the 15 ~i banA of the spectrum and to apply this function for the determinat- ion of the relationship of the thermal radiation of the car bon dioxide and its concentration. The band 15 ~L is the only one which takes a part in transfer of thermal radiation The determination methods of the absorption in this band were in- vestigated b:r va-rious authors; some of the results are given in FiAg.1, where the relation of the absorption to the quan- tity of C02 is shown.
