The empirically found formula to satisfy the function of Fig. 23 is: C a A (18) (VD - V) Considering other parameters it is to be noted, that the valley voltage cannot be considered as a constant for a given semi-conduc- tor. Its value depends on the technology and alloying materials; further, the peak voltage Vp is not constant, but changes with the value of the peak current IR; the current ratio 0- is almost propor- tional to the peak current ensity, suggesting that the valley cur- rent does not depend on the sane factors as the peak current; both p-n and n-p tunnel diodes exhibit low sensitivity.to the tempera- ture changes. TITLE: Effect of the alloying time on some properties of ger- manium tunnel diodes PERIODICAL: Archiwum Elektrotechniki, v. 11, no. 4, 1962, 829-831 TEXT: The hypothesis that observed relation between the peak cur- rent density and the alloying temperature is due to impurity dif- fusion across the solid-liquid interface, was experimentally checked and confirmed. Experimental p-n junctions were made by alloying 3n-Bi-As into p-germanium doped with gallium. The technique used in alloying is described and illustrated by a photograph and a sketch of the apparatus. Results of measurements of the current density i P, the ratio of currents I p and I., and of the parameter K = ip/CV are shown in graphs, in function of the duration of al- loying process (0 to 6 min). The relation ip = f(K) obtained from Card 1/2 Effect of the ... P/019/62/011/004/010/010 D271/D308 measurements is a straight line in log-log scale as predicted by the simplified theory of Esaki. In experiments, special stress was put on the elimination of all factors which might blur the influ- ence of diffusion. Experience dained in the described work has been successfully applied in the development of microwave tunnel diodes. There are 6 figures. ORG: Institute of Electronics IPPT-PAN (Zaklad Elektroniki IPPTI-PAN) ITITLE: Effect of various factors on scatter of tunnel diode parameters 'SOURCE: Archivum elektrotechniki, v. 14, no. 3, 1965, 475-49i TOPIC TAGS: tunnel diode, flip flop circuit, pn junction ABSTRACT: The author considers the scatter in parameters of tunnel diodes due to non- homogeneity of the base material and variations in production conditions during manu- facturing. Scatter in the parameters of these semiconductor devices is one of Lhe principal causes for rejection during quality control since the dimensions oil the p-n junction in microwave diodes are usually close to the critical values which cannot be exceeded without destruction of the diode. Besides this, there are many applications where a large number of diodes with nearly identical parameters are required, particu- larly in flip-flop circuits. An analysis of the properties of a p-n junction made under practical conditions (i. e. taking impurity diffusion into account) is used as a basis for derivation of formulas for determining the peak current, negative resiG- tance and barrier capacitance as well as time constants RC and r ac. These formulas are used for studying deviations in the parameters caused by changes in the impurity 2 uDc: 621.382.12: L 36213-66 ACC NR. AP6018026 concentration of the base material and of the recrystallization zone of the p-n junc- tion, as well as by changes in the temperature and duration of the diffusion process. The results indicate that conditions should be satisfied for keeping the scatter in current density iP at a minimum as a first step toward reducing the scatter in the other basic parameters of tunnel diodes. Scatter in current density may be minimized by carefully controlled diffusion conditions, and by variation of the acceptor concen- I tration in the base material and of the donor concentration in the recrystallized zone.! It is shown that the shape of the static characteristics for a tunnel diode is uniquely~' determined by the position of the two points corresponding to coordinates I , V and P P I V and that the ratio of peak to valley current is a linear function of valley VP V voltage for diodes made at various temperatures. It The authors present 3 cases of the heart in infarction and a 4th case of rupturing the heart in infarction with a needle during the puncture after clinical death. In the first cage the attention has been called to deformation of S-T section in tile ECG curve, in CR lead, obtained by laying the examining electrode over the place of rupture. In tile 2nd case the similarity of ECG picture to the curve of the Ist case in the form of additional deflection upon the elevated S-T section enabled to diagnose the rupture of the heart in infarction, which was confirmed by postmortem examina- tion. fn the 3rd case the ECG picture was not characteristic. Infarction and rupture were on the posterior wall of the left ventricle. In the 4th case, after clinical death, at the moment of rupturing the heart after infarction with a needle there was observed in the extinguishing ECG curve an additional deflection. In the clinical I tures of the ruptured heart the shock and growing cyanords are dominating. In t t- mortern findings the extensive parenchymatous degenerations and atrophic lesions predominate. with the presence of lipofuscin in the sarcoclasm of the muscle and with fatty metaplasia. of the connective tissue barriers, w 'ch penetrate among the muscle from the side of the epicardium abounding in fatty tissue. At the same time they ~Vantcd to compare ECG of fresh heart wounds in animals with subsequent changes in cases of Surgical licart wounds in man. The animals under ether anaesthesia were wounded wit 1~1 a scalpel in the precardiac region. For ECG examinations a typical clinical electrode was used in the side for a prec-,)rdiac lead; neadle electrodes were stuck s.c. for the standard extremity leads. In one case a thick needle was stuck through tile wound into the precardiac electrode. The localization of heart wounds was established with post-mortem. examination. In a series of experiments 11. animals were used (9 dogs and 2 cats). The myocardium was injured without damaging the coronary vessels in 5 dogs. Serial electrocardiograms of single and multiple heart wounds were analysed. Conclusions: (1) the ECG of multiple heart wounds in animals is characterized by a high take-off and deformation of S-T section, similar to that in cases of heart rupture in myocardial infarction in man. (2) The most characteristic curve appears in the chest lead. in which the examining electrode is situated most closely to the heart wound. (3) Simple and combined arrhythmias belong to the full ECG picture of heart wounds in animals. (4) ECG changes of experimental heart wounds are very changeable and require a serial examination. Pressure came down in 7 cases, and diminished chan-es in the bottom of the eye in 5. Mild side effects of orthostatic nature were noted in 8 of the cases and disappeared on the most part on diminishin.-, the dose. Severe orthostatic disturbances resulted in discontinued treatment in 2 cases, and diar- rhea corrected by Belladono - in one. Author concludes that the drup, is as good as many others, and that after initiation in the hospital, treatment can be continued on an out-patient basis. 21 refs; 3 Polish, 18 Western. 1/1 MRGZOWSKI. jerzy - Treatment of hypertension with gwine-thidine, (lawlin "Gibel)- PoL tyg. lek. 18 no.25:903-908 17 JO %3. 1. Thepercentage of free Si0Z in river sand used for cleaning the castings is 88-937a. Dust deter- mination was carried out bv the microimpinger. The obtained data are 9 to 46 times higher than MAC values valia in USA. For dust particle size examination Graen's and Watson's thermoprecipitator was used. Samples were Uetermined with oil immersion and microprojection on the calibrated screen. The geometric med- ium value ranges from 0.58 to 0.62 micron and is statistically insignificant. The same values are obtained for the 3 establishments examined. These results show a real danger to workers' health. MROZOWSKI, M.; JURKTEVICZ, W. Vionocytogenes Isolated in Our Country" Belgrade, Srpski arhiv za celokupno lekarstvo, Vol 93, No 10, Oct 19659 pp 8857-875- - - - Abstract: The clinical picture of listeriosis does not contain anything specific, it is similar to many other infections, thus rendering a clinical diagnosis almost impossible. The following tests were used for diagnosis: bacteriological method for iden- tification of L. monocytogenes, testing morphological and bio- chemical properties, antigenic properties. Pathology for labora- tory animals included inoculation of ;aice and rabbits. The pathological-anatomical findings were characteristic. The proof of antibodies in the patient by serological reactions is fairly simple to carry out, but interpretation is delicate due to the complex structure of antigens of L. monocytogenes. 7 Yugoslav, 13 Western references.
