A study was made (1) of the moment of ttppearance of the painful periods in 233
ulcer patients, for 4 yr.,. and (2) of the various meteorological changes (pressure
of the atmosphere. temperature, humidilly) and their daily variations, during the
same period and in the same place. Tiv! highest incidence of ulcer disease wail
recorded in the tuotiths, of March and 04-tobe r. the lowest incidence in the man'th
of July. Comparition of the graphs showing the course of recurrences of ulcer
disease and thoste showing the various meteorological factors reveals an evident
coincidence between the highest incidence of painful periods and the strong changes
in high barometrAcal readings- in the I at place the upward or downward tendency
of the temperature of the air and in the 2nd place the humidity. wind and electric
discharges play a role, but an the condition that they coincide with the former.
