Ive measure In treatment of acute and chronic coronary insufficiency. It is claimed
that it not only results in an immediate and prolonged relief from anginal pains but

the EM patterns. Possible mechanism of this action is discussed.

A woman of 55 with mental debility had caused an injury to tier right forearrin, and
a needle-like foreign body had penetrated into the forearm. The injury had lorq'
been overlooked until acute inflammatory phenomena haddeveloped. Post -oper ative-
ly, a severe Sudeck's dystrophy occurred. which is attributed to the inadequa',e
treatment of the foreign-body injury. From the viewpoint of the insurance expert,
there was a relationship with the accident. A lasting reduction of w')rking capacity
had been caused.

USTRACT: This Author's Certificate introduces: 1. An open-pole synchronou.; rpri,iric,
e. g. a hydraulic generator, containing a device for anti-acceleration protection ()f
the rotor by disengagement from the shaft of the drive unit when the permissible r-_ta-
tional velocity is exceeded. Design is simplified by making this device in the form
Df a system of hydraulic cylinders located around the circumference of the rotor Shaft
and rigidly connected to it. 711c cylinder rods are linked to the rotor iindf-r operating
conditions and serve as disengaging elements. Bearings are used for coupling the rotor
;o the shaft. 2. A modification of this machine in which a slide valve with an elec-
tromagnetic drive is used for controlling the hydraulic cylinders. 7he pulne which
operates this drive is fed from a speed relay.

Abstract In investigation of resistance of Brucella abortus bovis
in P-'.Ik to high temperatures it was shown that the effec-
+Iveness of pasteurization depends not only on the tempe-
rature and duration of its action, but also on the num-
ber of brucella contained in the milk. When the content
per ml of milk is 1 million brucella and higher the pas-
teurization process as practised was found insufficient
to protect all the animals from infection by brucellosia.
When the content per ml is up to 100 thousand brucella,
then pasteurization at 700 for 30 minutes or at 80-900

Abstract The resistance of the a(-,enta of brucelloais and tubercu-
losis in milk at various pasteurization temperatures has been
investigated. At farms where unfavorable conditions exist
with respect to brucelloeis, the milk must be pasteurized
at 700 for 30 min; at -farm where unfavorable conditions e-
x1at with respect to tuberculoais, pasteurization must be car-
ried out at 850 for 30 min. Pasteurization at 700 for 30 min
and short-time pasteurization at 900 do not result in the
complete disinfhction of the milk from tuberculosis microbes.

Abstract A study was made of the comparative susceptibility of a
large number of animals to enterotoxin of pathogenic
staphylococci. It was demonstrated that In the number
of positive reactions upon parenteral introduction of
filtrates of enterotoxic staphylococci to the test ani-
mals, cats were first (93.3%), puppies second (84%),
kittens third (81.7%), white mice fourth (6o%), and
frogs fifth (58-54%). It was also noted that 12-16%
of cats, 20-25% of kittens and 24-30% of puppies regis-
ter a positive reaction to parenteral introduction of'
filtrates containing no enterotoxin.
