It deals with the technology of the most important construction materials made from plasticsp which are either in use, or are intended for introduction into industry in the future. The polymer techr'.ology is described briefly in.this bookj neverthelasat there is enough of ma- terial to be used in the production organization of polymer processing into con- struction materials and parts. The study of raw and ready made materials in this book is barely touched upon, since these problems are treated in a special (textboo used during a special lab course approved by the board of education for the con- etruction-enginearing f4oultiea. The properties of plastic =~ terials used in construction are also described. Described are different groups o.-LP polymer construction materials which are hiebly, in uze in construction technolool, or are being considered for the introcluction into the construction technoloc/. Mese materials are for walls (wood shaving, wood fibrouz slabs., thick plastic., coated, slabs and wv-U panneling); mterials for flows are (lynoleums,, and tiles); heat arA sound proof materials (penopolystyrene, penopolyvynicholcrid,, mipor,, penopolyuteran and others). Group far roofing airtight naterials is (tlwsplastic, izol and polymeri slabs) The book ends with the description of molded products (basebo2rds, handrails and Card 1/2 jW:678.5(0758)+6q%i.75(075B) ACC NRs A145008336 -others), pipes ana sanitary installation-- made on the polymer bazes. It was found that the best results of recording a high value of this relationship, i,e. a value of R , was obtained from a deeply screened detector with an aniso- ,-tropic characteristic. Due to the low relationship of the spectral field B(lir) (Eq (2)) and the working height of the aircraft (25-100 m), the number of pulses recorded by the detector can be considered proportional to the in- tensity of the y-radiation. The intensity of the y-field can be.defined as Bqs (3) and (4), where pr distance between the primary ys-quantum energy E Mev q volu- metric concentration of-the radioactive matter, 8 crose-section of the source of radiation, r - distance between the detector and the source of radiation SOV/49-59-7-7/22 On the Possibility of Applying a Screened Detector in Radiometric Prospecting from an Aircraft r>1/113") I 'A3 and IiB - linea'r coefficients of ab- sorption of the primary y-radiation in rocks and air, respectively, k - coefficient describing the nature of the radioactive matter, P - angle between the perpendic- ular to the earth's surface and the direction to the source. The value of qS/2-~3 in Eq (4) represents the energy of the source, and the last term in the square brackets repre- sents the inclination factor. The intensity I source in the case of uranium and thorium can be calculated within 10% accuracy from Eq (5), where A(h) - intensity of the y-field at the height h The value of the recorded intensity 1 3(hlrdl) ( X-L angle of detector) can be calculated from Eqs (6) and (7) or Eqs (8) and (9) for the height h -25-100 m or a mean height h - 50 m, respectively, Card 2/4 SOV/49-59-7-7/22 On the Possibility of Applyihg a Screened Detector in Radiometric Prospecting from an Aircraft The function 13 (ri) can be calculated as Eqs (1l)-(13) for various types of screen. The total ionization effect Iq can be calculated from Eq (14). The data recorded by the detector cannot represent an exact character of the Y-field. Thus,la correction$ Eq (15), should be introduced. Ther. Eq (14) w 1 take the form of Eq (16) and R will be expressed by Eq (17) where the value of T depends on "V (Eq (18)). As a result of the correction Ithe recorded curve (Fig 1) can be described by the function y(x) in Eqs (19) or (20) (where v - aircraft velocity). The maximum value of YW can be described by the recorded amplitude as a relationship of the angle of the detector 0 and the constant time TL . The effect of a circular scroen on the recorded data can be determined when the functions -fort. (Eq (21))and 1 3(9) (Eq (8)) are sub- sti-~uted into Eq (17). Thus the formula (23) can be der- ived. Fig 2 illustrates the relationship (24), showing a strong independence of Rmax in-respect of i.. - Card 3/4 The relationship between O-Ort and iot can be defined SOV/49-59-7-7/22 On the Possibility of Applying a Screened Detector in Radiometric Prospecting from an Aircraft as Eq (25). The efficiency of the results obtained can be calculated from Eq (26). All the above calculations were made for a detector with a vertical axis. Other cases were not investigated but it can be stated that the function Q(~) describing the screen's bearing can be defined as Eq (27). Thus, the value cf R max in respect to Rsource cannot differ by more than (Eq (28)). Thanks are given to R, M. Kogan and I. M. After purification on a column filled with Card 1/3 Physical Properties of 1P4-Dialkyl S/079/60/030/011/003/026 Cyclohexanes Booi/BM silica gelp the resultant dihoxyl-, diheptyl-9 dioctyl-g and dinonyl cyclohexanes were recrystallized from alcohol. The melting points of dihexyl- and*diheptyl cyclohexanes were determined at a constant tempera- ture of 0-200 (Table 1). This table also compares the properties of the resultant octyl- and dodecyl cyclohexanes with those of the monoalkyl cyclohexanes corresponding to them with respect to the molecular weight. The physical constants of 1P4-dialkyl cyclohexanes (with normal radicals) approximately agree with those of the monoalkyl oyclohexanee corresponding to them as to molecular weight. Diagram 1 shows the direct proportional ratio between the melting point, 1)420y nD20, and the number of carbon atoms in the alkyl radical of 1#4-dialkyl cyclohexanes. The mean exaltation value of the molecular refraction (A MR D) is +0,10. The viscosity values are given in Table 2 (Ref. 2)o Diagram 2 gives the logarithm of the viacosity as a function of temperature. Diagram 3 illustrates the dependence of the logarithm of viscosity of IP4-dialkyl oyclohexanes on the number of carbon atoms In the alkyl radical. Diagram 4 shows the dependence of the molar extinction coefficient E of the 2925 onrl band in their molecules on the number of CH.2 groupse The infrared spectra Card 2/3 86498 Physical Properties of 1,4-Dialkyl 0/079/60/030/011/003/026 Cyolohexanes BOW/BM of all compounds show Intense-band s at 1375 and 1450 cm -1 corresponding to the deformation vibrations of the CH3 and CH 2 groups' In the spectrum of diisoamyl oyolohexane, the 1375 om-1 band is split into two bands 1 (1350 and 1385 cm7 )# which is indicative of branching.
