Dear Mr. Campbell:
Executive Order Mo. 10825, dated 12 June 1959,
excusing employees fromp dety iton 3 July 1959, contains
certain rather unusual tons concerning pay and
leave for employees excused for a holiday and an inter-
pretation is requested of the following questions to
guide the Agency payroll office.
section 2(b) of the Order provides in part as
folloms
This order shall not apply to (i) any
employee who receives holiday or premium
pay or compensatory time in lieu thereof,
for work performed on Saturday, July 4,
1959, or any part thereof
Is an employee whose regular tear of duty is Monday
through Friday and who is required to perform duty on
Saturday, 4 July, entitiod to overtime compensation tor
such servioes on Saturday in addition to being emeused
on friday, 2 July, sad if be is entitled to overtime
compensation ter Saturday should he be charged for 'ears
for absence on friday?
