The enclosed proposal covers the preparation of supplementary
parts data and spare parts information which has been requested from
time to time by you or 25X1A
Bob asked us to prepare and maintain a master parts list covering
all parts contained in project equipment. We are maintaining this list on
a current basis at our plant and furnishing extracts from it to Bob from
time to time.
We were requested early last year, by Bob, to prepare a special
parts data list for System 1, and it has been necessary subsequently to
revise it. Twenty-five (25) copies of both the original and revised list
have been furnished him.
You have asked us to make recommendations on spare parts for
the various systems as early in the program as possible and to suggest
revisions in these lists when indicated. While much of this work is
done as an integral part of the development and production planning,
some separate engineering effort is required on spares requirements,
and it seems appropriate to collect this cost separately.
All of these items are in the nature of special requirements for
the program, and we believe it is proper to collect the costs of doing
them separately and to treat them as direct charges. Much of the early
work on these requests was not separated from the development or 25X1A
production work, but recently we have been collecting the costs separately
and are now covering this type of work with a separate proposal. The
