1. Recruiter Recognition: We have received advance
word from officials at Bowling Green University in Ohio that
one of our recruiters, is among the
finalists for a recruit in e ca. egory of Govern-
ment. This award is the result of balloting by the students
interviewed on campus during the recruiting year -- the
students rate the recruiters. The presentation is to be
made on Friday, 20 May, About 200 recruiters from Govern-
ment nd industry and placement officials from many of the
larg Midwest colleges will be in attendance for this yearly
event. E
2. President@s Committee on Hiring the Handicapped:
STATINTL Recruiter attended the annual meeting of the
President's Committee on the Employment of the Handicapped
along with'other personnel representatives. As a part of
his program, he interviewed five applicants while in
attendance at their job,-placement center, organized by,
officials of the District of Columbia Department of Manpower.
They expressed their graditude to the Agency for sending a
representative who was in a position to conduct interviews.
The majority of Government.agencies had simply listed a `-
catalog of jo~ de/scriptions with an address and phone number
in lieu of an interviewer.
3. Disability Retirees -- CIARDS: As of COB Tuesday,
10 May, there were only eight CIARDS disability retirees
who had not yet eported their income from salaries or
wages during 1976. We are.,unable to contact one of these
individuals as he is on an extended trip around the world.
