1, Referenced mein invites attention of all Personnel Office
= nbero to the S ing rate of security violations within the Personnel
Office. To mininUe the possibility of seertri ty violations in the fwature, the

a. The Securi r Check List, Pam 38-7, dated 3auuary 1950, will be
the only fearln used to check safes and other looking storage equips t
within the P,onnel Office.
b. Faoh sup visor will. appoint. custodians who will be responsible
for providing a Security Check List (Form. 38-7) for each safe and other
lacking store container under his supervision. The form will be
prepared to indicate the major office and the compact theareof, roam
n bor and safe nunber, and the complete list of dates for a aalmdar
months incl. wed. Upon opening locked equipment, .the designated
custodian will initial the "Opened By" coluema and indicate the time of
opening. 'Upon ol,rasing such equip t, the custodian will Initial the
"Closed ly" colui m and indicate the closing time.
co At the conclusion of each day?e work, the supervisor or designee
will also be responsible for a general inspection of the room or rooms
under his supervinion. This check will include but not be United to a
general observation of the folleirl ng t observe that windows are closed
and locked; that tops of desks, tables, filing cabinets, safes, and other
looking storage equipment are clear of classified material; and that
wastebaskets and floors contain no classified material. .
d. In the event of eves or week-end cork, the last umplqjea to
leave will. be responsible for accomplishing the security deck indicated
in (a) above. In edition, if safes or other looking storage devi
have been opened, such emplayw will be responsible for closing same and
initialing its the "Closed Syr" colon,
