SUBJECT: Request for Additional Language Training for
In Accordance with Paragraph F of CIA Regulation
Ref . AD/O's Memorandum dated 21 June 1951, subject, Request Under
Para F of CIA Regulation _for Approval of Training for
NO SECURITY OBJECTIONS
$nployee will make no reference to, or discuss
his CIA connection, assignment or duties while

1. will complete one hundred hours of
training in conversational Russian at the Berlitz School of Languages,
Washington, D. C., on 16 November 1951. This training was approved by
the Director of Training on 22 June 1951-
2. Mr. has benefitted greatly from the training course,
but additional training will be required if he is to obtain the degree
of proficiency in Russian which the Contact Division desires he achieve
for the purpose of interrogation of defectors.
3. It is requested, therefore, that approval be granted for an
additional fifty hours of conversational Russian language training for
MM.r. at the Berlitz School of Languages. The total cost of
the additional training will be $190.00.
4. If the requested approval is forthcoming, Mr. will 25X1A9a
be instructed to arrange for his additional training as a private
individual, and to conceal his CIA affiliation.
