BOX 175 CHARLOTTESVILLE, VIRGINIA My dear Mr. Dulles: Mr. Joseph Barber has told you that we are forming the Charlottesville Committee on Foreign Relations. We are very pleased to have the privilege of working with the Council on Foreign Relations, and feel it an honor that our small community has been accepted. I understand that General Morgan is an old friend of yours, and I believe you know that he is to arrive here in the late afternoon of May 3rd to be the Discussion Leader at our first meeting the same night. Mr. Barber tells me that there is a probability that you can also be present and if so that you would be willing to give a brief talk on the local committees and how they operate. Tf you could do so we would greatly appreciate your coming for this meeting. Mrs. Kilham and I have invited General Morgan to stay with us the nights of May 3rd and 4th and as much longer as he can stay. We would be very pleased if you could stay with us also. Furthermore, we would be pleased to have any suggestions that you can make in advance of this meeting that would work toward the success of our corunittee.
