There is no information indicating any further changes in the tactical situation. 2. Peiping's People's Daily has reacted violently to the U nvo vemen il~in the Dominican struggle. It railed against what it called "yet another undisguised armed aggression" by the Johnson administration in Latin America in the style of last year's Panamanian episode. The commentator concluded that the events in Santo Domingo showed that "the situation in Latin America is getting more and more out of hand for the US. The quiet 'backyard' has become a tur- bulent battlefield." . 3. Havana radio is continuing its efforts to encourage the rebels and keep the Military situation confused by broadcasting reports of large-scale defection from the Dominican army to the rebel forces. 4.
