The Polish Ambassador, Jan Karol !Mende, returned to Belgrade from Warsaw
an 7 April 1949; the Bulgarian Ambassador, Pelo Pelovski, returned to Bel-
g.r?ade sometime during the first week of April, 1949 and is at preset in
Belgrade. The Rumanian Ambassador, Toodor P.udenco, also is reported to
have returnedo The Czech Ambassador allegedly stated to a friend that he
expected to be replaced. 1% Jossef Marsai, Charge d'Affaires at the Hun-
garian Legation, has been in Belgrade since his 111niater9 Zoltan Szanto,
left Belgrade during the first week in February. There has been rFo vrord
on Soviet Ambassador Anatoli j Lavrentiev, who left Belgrade during Decem-
ber.- Grigorij Shnjukov, Charge dOAffairee., has been seen frequently during
the past three monthso There has been no activity at the Albenimr Legation
