1. The strongly nationalistic and formerly pro-Nazi Grupo de Oficialee Unidos
(GOU), a quasi-secret org'nization of army officers within the army, is
reported to be increasing in strength.*
2. The GOU has now turned against Peron because of that it considers his in-
efficient handling of the government and his desire for personal gain.
It also feels that the Argentinee President is becoming too pro-American.

3.' The GOU disapproves of the participation of the Duarte family in activities
which they term corrupt, and demands its immediate removal from the political
scene. According to source, members of the GOU would not stop at anything,
including assassination, to accomplish this ends This desire to remove the
Duarte family is partially motivated by the fact that some members of the
GOU would like to share in the graft and bribery which permeate all govern-
ment departments.
4. In order to report on the activities of President Peron and his government,
the GOU has set up a five man committee. The identity of these individuals
remains confidential. It also has members serving in the intelligence section
of the :Argentine army and is apprised of most current intelligence.
5. Peron is reported to be aware of the activities of the GOU but is not taking
any action against it except to receive daily information on certain affiliated
army officers. When Peron is assured of sufficient military and political
support, he is expected to carry out an offensive against the GOU.

The Federal Police is engaged in determining if the GOU and certain army
officers are directly connected with any political party or parties.
