Wilhelm :J .D. Pesi c, the representative of the Indonesian Republic in Manila,
cabled the Republic of Indonesia office in New Delhi for a list of the
supplies desired by the government in Java. The reply indicated the follow-
ing materials are needed in addition to arm and a } Lion:
(a) Medical supplies (sulpha drugs, aspirin, thermowters, syringes,,
and surgical instruments).
(b) Textiles (cheap uniform materials).
(c) Newsprint.
(d) Tires (70Q 20)
(e Photographic supplies.
Radio transmitters and receivers.
T Flashlight and automobile batteries.
Pesik was also informed that 19200 tons of copra can be exported each month
from Atjeh, Palm oil., patchouli oil, rubber and coft:e are available for
export in addition to the copra.
There are 250,000 armed >i publicans in Atjah.
