6 Several members of the "front" argued strongly that the struggle against the
cabinet should not await the organization of the party and that a strong
attack should be prepared against Tr. Carlos Ilerena, Rector of the University,
Felix Olivella, civilian financier of the revolution, and Dr, Miguel Rafael
Urquia, Minister of Foreign Relations. It was suggested that since all
these persons are of foreign birth (Lierena is a Oaetemalan, Olivelltt a
Spaniard, Urquia a Honduran), they should be attacked as unfit to hold office
or to interfere in any way in the politics of El Salvador.

-- nt. On 22 February, Julio Feusto Fernandez departed El Salvador
for Montevideo, Uruguay, via Son Jose, Costa Rica, on TACA flight #203. His
appointment as Consul General of El Salvador was confirmed in the Diario Oficial.
Through government friends Fernandes had tried to decline the appointment
since 2 February when he was first nominated, because, as he told a friend, he
felt called upon to continue the Salvadoran fight against what he termed "La
Vacs del Hipotecario", a group of power-hungry bueinessm?n. He stated that he
had offered his cooperation to the Osorio government, and the Consul generalship
in Uruguay was the task they had given himo
