Before Dr. Heel left for The Hague, Sjahrir told Anak A in a secret conference that the United States was workingn through Agtile UN for its own profit, and that if matters continue in this directi?>n the United States would I:uceeed in replacing the Dutch economic con-.;ro1 with a monopolistic arrangement of their own and Indonesia would find herself in the same econc-Iaic position as she was before? 2. In view of this, Sjahrir suggested to Agung a plan which Agung was ;o present to Beel. In-substance the plan provided for the granting of immediate sovereignty to Indonesia,with the military, economic and financial position. so modified as o be acceptable to the Republic, but leaving the authoritative strings legally held by the Dutch. 3.
