FEASTED BELOW) REPORT NO. 10 Darmasetiawan states that there is no disagreement among Republican groups concerning their policy in the present situation. He stated emphatically that they are all pulling together. There is some confusion, however, because of the difficulty the following groups are having communicating with each other: Sukarno, Hatta and Sjahrir; the Republican government in exile in Sumatra; and Sumitro and Maramis. 2, Darmasetiawan commented on the fact that the United Nations Commission for Indonesia(UNCI) contacts only Sukarno and Hatta,. He feels that the de facto government of the Republic, which was given authority by Sukarno at the last cabinet meeting held in Jogjakarta before the "police action", should also .be consulted by the UNCI. It is his opinion that as far as the leaders and people., of the Republic are concerned.this government-has legal authority. While Darmasetiawan realizes the difficulty of contacting the government in exile in Atjeh, he feels mention should be made of this, government.when Sukarno and Hatta are contacted. Because of the separation of the Republican leaders, it takes time for ideas and proposals to be coordinated. 4. Dutch officials have not said when Sukarno, Latta and other leaders will be released. Darmasetiawan learned from his conversations with Federalists that Lieut. General Spoor wo.e..against their release and that his opinion in this matter had influenced Beeler Darmasetiawan believes that full'scale guerrilla action will begin in rest Java. in two weeks.
