ACQUIRED Urn to CIA (LISTED BELOW) Library DATE OF IN SUPPLEMENT TO 25X1 X6 REPORT NO. 14 On 30 January 1949 a China National Air Corporation (CNAC) plane left Shanghai for Tsingtao but did not reach its destination. 2Q Among the 14 passengers on the plane were CHOU Chia-chung, Director of C.U.S.A. and assistant manager of the Taingtao Branch of the Central Bank of China, and Commodore CH;N, director of the Chinese Naval Dockyards in Tsingtao. CEHOU was believed to have been carrying a large amount of money for the Central bank of China. 3. Chinese reconnaissance aircraft were able to spot the plane at Tsinnn in spite of attempts at camouflage.
