SUPPLEMENT TO
1. According to source, the SPD membership oar-de of all SPD residents of the
Soviet Sector of Berlin are in the hands of the SM' , and a commission has
been set up to make a study of this material. This corrr%ission, composed
of Ottanar Geschken Deruty 1fayor of the `'x-viet Sector city government,
Bullerjahn, and hunter, has been inatructcd to prepare the following lists
a. Functionaries clearly orposed to the jt>licies of the USSR.
b, Functionaries and members who have eves' for any reason had contro-
versies with the SPD tandeevorstand Besiin.
c, Functionaries who, without becoming especially well sown for their
views, are definitely Western-oriented.
d. Functionaries who have personal or professional contacts with personnel
or organizations of the Western Powers, or who have special connections
in western Germany or any western country-,
G. Functionaries whose professional aotivitics in the western sectors of
Berlin are combined with any political f u ction in the western sectors.
20 The commission has been instructed to submit these lists to the Political
Department of the Central Komendatura by 31 Decembe:c 1948. The SED ban assigned
Max Fechner and Karl Litke to assist and advise the commission in this work.
