1. Over 4,000 well-armed guerrillas are concentrated at Tjikampek. Several
hundred infiltrants around Batavia have gone to Tjikampek to act as
reserves,
2, Taa !alaka's and -uao's Communists have joined with the Moslem fanatics and
tho regular Tentera Nasional Indoneeia(TNI) against the Dutch.
3, The Dutch have not launched a mounted attack because mobile equipmexit
is not effective in teak forests. Their only alternative is to carer
out a large scale offensive, which would require all of the hitch 21rJ
infantry, brigade,
4, Between 20 December and 9 January the regrouped TNI and the Lasjkarv.
launched seven at-4acks on Jogjakarta. The last attack on 9 January
was the heaviest. The Dutch used heavy machine guns and artillery f1re
to repulse them.
