1. The recent rumors of jr esent collaboration by General Nicholas Plastiras
with Leftist leaders and elements are, according to source, false.
Plastiras will collaborate with elements of nationalist democratic ideology,
against-both the, extrene Right and the extreme Left whom he regards as
equally dangerous for the country. The infrequent meetings between Far xsuel
Tsouderae, Petimezas and P3astiras have been of a personal and not a poli-
tical nature.

2. Marty representatives of farmers, manufactus, white-collar workers, and
labor organizations have Joined with several northern Greek and Cretan
deputies to ask the General to head a now political party. Among these
deputies are Hatziskos, Vrettakos, Thanopoulos and Baltas. The latter two
are of the Zervas Party. Plastiras has refused for the present on the
grounds that it would embarrass the present government and hinder its fight
against the gurerrillas. The possibility,of such a move after the restoration
of order, however, is not excluded, according to source.
3. Meanwhile, Plastiiua continues to accuse Themistocles Sophoulis of "con-
tributing to Greece 9 s disaster"" by being a Papulist Party tool. By making
such charges, Plastiras has alienated himself from many of the present
military and political leaders,
