The expansion and inproverient of'the color film copying departments at Farbfilm Kopierwerk Linsa, Kt3penick (formerly Kodak KCpenick)+-ras .linos- co rulete in Fav 1948. Only a small proportion of the unexposed negatives nnroduced by AC'FA Filmfabrik '.olfen is sent to Lirisa for experimental purposes. The remainder is sent directly to the USSR. The positives and exposed negatives are all sent to Linsa for develop. vent and treatment. They are copied there and returned to the USSR for cutting and/or mounting. Copies are made for both the German and Russian versions, 3. Film sound recordings in German are at present made at the former Tobis studios at Johannistal. The sound development is directed by a certain Herr T.Kar.re, Sound and picture are combined at KBnenick. 4. r. change of policy took place in "ay 1948, and the studios at Pabelsterg are now to be rebuilt. Linsa is looking for nsvr sound-recording apparatus, and negotiations are proceeding with Professor Leithduser,' Professor Leith user is alleged to have d.hscovered a new sound recording method which uses -iercury vapor, and which is.controlled by high frequency equipment. This method is said to be very successful, but not yet in production. 5. Sovexport and "IK- A black and white i ilms are develored and copied at Kopieranstalt Tetsch, Johannistal. flo documents are copied at Linsa. 6. A lame film copying institute is under construction and nearing completion near }'oscow.
